Newzbin Reinstates Credit System

Newzbin.com has two membership types - basic and premium. The basic version allows for free searching and a degree of participation on the site, The much more valued premium membership, however, allows a slew of attractive features and of course - NZB files. In late March and early April, just weeks before the original Newzbin was found guilty of copyright infringement, the credit system was frozen and all members were granted free access. Today, that all comes to an end.

From Newzbin.com:

"As many of you are now discovering, the credit system has been re-implemented. NZB1 had, in the months prior to closing their doors, set the credit system, pending resolution of the court case, so that all members had premium access irrespective of their status. After they lost the case, new management took over the domain and set up NZB2. What remained tho was the setting from NZB1, which allowed all members premium access. This setting has now been removed. What this means is that Basic members will only have access to the basic features. Premium members of course have access to the Premium features. To see what features the different classifications have, please refer to the Feature Overview.

"While we welcome your audits asking why you no longer are able to download NZBs, a quicker solution is to get topped up and become a Premium member (because that is going to be the answer in the audits)."

Reinstating the credit system was an inevitable fact of life. Websites of Newzbin.com's volume are not cheap to run, and the fact Newzbin2 granted free access and frozen credits until now remains highly regarded within this community. And at the end of the day, the few dollars it costs to sign up with Newzbin for a year's worth of superior NZB indexing remains a bargain in the eyes of the NZB community.
