The Pirate Bay Safe from Police Filter
July 9, 2007

Slyck reported last Wednesday that the Swedish Police's were to voluntary request that ISPs recategorize The Pirate Bay as a "child pornography" site. If successful, this action would block Swedish citizens from accessing this highly popular BitTorrent tracker. According to The Pirate Bay's latest
blog post, it appears the Swedish Police have backed off this threat.
There's a brief Swedish quote from an unnamed source that translates to, "The child porn filter list distributed this week will NOT contain the pirate bay." It is unknown at this time whether this is a quote from Swedish police.
The Pirate Bay claims to have received no guidance from the Swedish police regarding illegal content on their servers, leaving them to question police motivation.
"They claim that their work has been successful when trying to rid the Internet of child porn. I want to point out that still to this day, the police has not given us one single hint on what content on the site has been containing child porn - and the things we have filtered out has been proven not to be child porn either. So wtf? What is this content their talking about?"
The Pirate Bay is considering legal action against the police, if the concluding portion of the post is not to be taken flippantly.
"We are currently thinking about filing charges against the responsible police officer for slander or official misconduct, and we will continue to investigate the actions they have taken."
