BitTorrent.com already has an impressive array of media entertainment; a variety of games, videos and music. And not just some no-name, backwater joint looking to get noticed on a popular website. BitTorrent has spent considerable effort collaborating with many independent, as well as major, artists and publishers in a growingly successful effort to normalize the BitTorrent protocol.
BitTorrent, Inc.'s latest additions,
announced today, adds mainstream content to a more independently oriented site. According to BitTorrent's press release, the company will add content from "20th Century Fox, G4, Kadokawa Pictures USA, Lionsgate, MTV Networks (including COMEDY CENTRAL, Logo, MTV: Music Television, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons Network, SpikeTV, The N, TV Land and VH1), Palm Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Starz Media."
There's some big names mentioned, especially Fox, Lionsgate and Paramount Pictures. And with those big names comes the big name entertainment. According to BitTorrent, Inc., films such as "X-Men The Last Stand," "Ringu," "Saw III," "13 Tzameti," "Mission: Impossible III," will be available via BitTorrent.com. Additionally, TV programming such as "24", "Prison Break","South Park" and "Chappelle's Show" will also be available.
Most of these titles will not be available for free. Unlike BitTorrent.com's competition, the above mentioned titles will priced to own - or priced to rent. The press release did not mention whether any DRM (Digital Rights Managment) will accompany these products. Slyck will update this article when more information is made available.
