Snarf-It Sales Spark Concerns
March 7, 2006

Less than a week after a major legal onslaught was reported against a number of torrent sites, reports have today been circulating that the popular indexing site
Snarf-It has been put on the market.
Originally founded by FD, who many will know as the brains behind Suprnova, Snarf-It has built up an impressive reputation in the relatively short time that the site has been operational. The site is now run by Target, a reclusive man who shares much of the vision of their original founder.
The news of the offer to sell associated domains is in fact plastered across the home page of Snarft-It.org, and actually refers to the intended sale of the associated domains, Snarf-It.com and Snarf-It.net. At first glance, the stark notice seemed horribly familiar to those who remember those final days of Lokitorrent.
“Domain for Sale
The snarf-it.com and snarf-it.net domains have just been put onsale by ourselves, if you are interested in purchasing the domain for your site, advertising or whatever please bid in the Sedo auction or contact admin@snarf-it.org”
Slyck tracked the elusive Target down to hear his intentions at first hand. Target explained,
“This isn’t a big mystery, the domains are not connected with the indexing site, which is Snarf-It.org, and are simply surplus to our requirements. The name is memorable and will be attractive to many people, we’ve had a lot of interest.”
When asked how Snarft-It was managing given all the recent legal attention, Target smiled and said,
“we’ve been around a lot longer than most people give us credit for, and we’re growing from strength to strength. We have just launched a beta of our news site, Snag-It, which we intend to develop along with other plans we currently have in the pipeline. Watch this space for news, we’re growing.”
We went on to ask what steps he had put in place to protect himself from legal action from the combined forces of the MPAA and the RIAA. Target allowed himself to smile for the second time saying,
“As I told you, we’re growing and have some great plans for the future. We’re certainly not retreating.”
These confident words will doubtless be very welcome to the ears of the filesharing community.
