This is my Fav, It allows you to control the bandwidth of people uploading from you, so you can still surf the net and love the play feature for any file in download or files uploading sections, with Leech Hammer you can stop the leeches who never share. I have got over 600 Kb per second on uploads with 4 or more users on the WinMX network A must for music lovers into oldies.

Very bugged, no multisourced downloading possible on the opennaps, lots of leeches and lots of fake files. Not recommended

sometimes downloads time out, but the speeds and the results make that not a big deal. Good for music and movies

The 3.54 beta is essentially analogous to previous versions, suffice to say that the shared file window has been enhanced, slightly. The network itself has been reliable for years though, and the interface is simple. Lots of high bitrate files. For rare files, you might have to look elsewhere. Works as a good supplement for music along with Ares, and for videos is supplemented sufficiently with eMule.

WinMX is quite a stable network, and despite the lack of developmental progress, it still remains to prosper. It has a great availability of files, and is simple enough for even my father to use (not kidding; he's used it for years).

And, best of all, it works flawlessly on Linux with Wine.

great for music

Great program. I've used Napster, Morpheus, and Kazaa Lite, and this one is one of my favorite ones. It's great for music. It's also easy to use with a no nonsense and very responsive GUI. If you can't find what you are looking for using WinMX's main server it has OpenNap support. The biggest issue with it is the queue problem as someone else mentioned above but other than that a great program with many loyal users.

This is a must have application for music fans. It has a huge selection of mp3s, with very few corrupt files.

Excellent app, has both popular and rare files available. Bandwidth throttling, very customizable. Only current problem is the queue issue. This, however, should be fixed with a (hopefully) upcoming release of v4.

Great proggy with loads of useful functions, like for example bandwidth throttling. It has a load of users (~1.5 mill), ergo it has loads of rare files. Recommended for music, programs, ebooks, music videos, tv eps and images. Bigger files like movies and isos and such, should be downloaded via BitTorrent, because MX has a tendecy to make large queues on big files. Also, the chat function is used to trade (for example chat channels such as Movie Lovers Paradise) bigger files. Also, it has complete hashing, so you wont get many fake/corrupted files.
