Fast program, poor file selection especially compared to edonkey2000.

Use FrostWire, the free alternative to LimeWire.

I think that LW is the worst gnutella client ;) so damn bad search results :S i get 250 on LW and on Piolet/blubster and bearshare lite i get over 1500! So the best gnutella client is BearShare Lite i think :) ;)

Very good p2p-client, espacially if you´re looking for smaller files. For big files performance is not as impressive as of clients that run on ed2k/bt/g2 networks.

It´s gui is simple and userfrienly.

Excellent client for Gnutella. Make sure you have the most current version of java when using it as it can be resource heavy if you are running older versions of java.

LimeWire is an OK program for mp3s, but I would only use it as a backup program. I do occasionally use LimeWire, though I just use it to find mp3s that i otherwise can't find on Ares or BitTorrent sites. I used to use LimeWire only, but I like to download movies and Ares and BitTorrent have much more, and higher quality movies. It has very slow download times, mine usually top at 40-50 kbps, which is pretty slow, seeing as i use Rogers Extreme Hi-Speed internet, and I dont share the connection. My Ares can top at about 460 kbps, so i recommend Ares as oppsosed to LW.

Simple interface, expedited downloads, superior search results, eclectic array of file types, and not much of a problem with regards to queue's. Ideal for mp3 files, works as a good supplement with Ares. Copious amount of video files, although Bittorent would make for a good alternative. Great program, albeit an upgrade to the library component would be nice.

Very very nice, fast downloads easy to use interface, new f2f technology seems to have made it faster and connection connectivity is very strong.

Limewire has been running the Gnutella community for some time. There has been no other program which has given so much to the user base as this one has.

LimeWire is a really cool piece of software. It's certainly the best Gnutella client around. Be sure to use an updated version of Java when running it ( I would recommend 1.4.2 or 1.5.0 ), LimeWire might be very slow otherwise.

I find it a little buggy at times, but LW saved Gnutella's reputation by it's innovations and that alone is worth a 5. Definitely try before making a decision about your preferred client.
