No Decision Today in MGM vs. Grokster Case
June 20, 2005

StreamCast, Grokster, MGM, the RIAA and MPAA, along with all other interested parties will have to wait one more week for the much anticipated MGM vs. Grokster decision. The Supreme Court did not release a decision on this issue today.
The Supreme Court releases decisions every Monday, viewable through the
SCOTUS blog. Although it did release six decisions today, none were related to the MGM vs Grokster case.
"The Supreme Court, on a day on which it issued six decisions, released none of the major controversies still to be decided -- the Ten Commandments displays cases, music and movie downloading and copyright, government seizures of private property for private re-development, and access to cable companies' broadband lines for high-speed Internet connections."
With only one week left in term, many are beginning to wonder if the Supreme Court will actually release the decision this month. However, according to Fred von Lohmann of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, in all likelihood we will receive a decision next week.
"A virtual certainty that it will be decided before the end of June. This Court is not likely to hold this case over for reargument, especially in light of the Court's light overall case load and the fact that the composition of the Court may change before the next term."
