While Kazaa Lite's future in the P2P world remains in deep question, the fight against spyware and adware doesn't end with this client. For almost two years DietK, formerly known as Diet Kaza, has been turning those official Kazaa Media Desktops into spyware/adware-free clients with all the functionality of Kazaa Lite.

Unlike Kazaa Lite, which actually modifies the programming of Kazaa Media Desktop, DietK is an independent program. It strips off any spyware/adware and blocks pop-ups. In addition, it blocks Altnet search results, while ridding your computer of Cydoor, Gain, PerfectNav and Euniverse WUpdater.

DietK also has all the functionality of Kazaa Lite, such as unlimited search more, supernode hopping, download accelerator and additional search results.

For those scouring the Internet for Kazaa Lite, we suggest you give DietK a try. The only disadvantage we see is that the user must install Kazaa Media Desktop before DietK can function, temporarily installing third party software to one's machine.

While we appreciate that many in the P2P community have given up on FastTrack, a large number are still interested in this network. Considering that Kazaa Lite development has ceased, the new banner of spware/adware free Kazaa may be flying with DietK.
