Although we aren't responsible for the development of WinMX 4.0, despite the impression of some, there's a bit of news from FrontCode that requires additional patience.

To get the latest on WinMX 4.0, we contacted Kevin Hearn, President of FrontCode Technologies. In our August discussion with Kevin, he gave a "very rough estimate of late October for WinMX v4.0 beta 1."

However, things have been delayed. We've restrain from considering this an adverse event, considering that the current version of WinMX works well and continues to reap an enormous audience.

From Kevin Hearn:

"...Unfortunately nothing new happening over here, just clicking away trying to get this thing done. [It] feels like we're re-inventing the wheel over here. Hopefully I've got something solid by the end of the year."

So, another period of time to wait. It's not the end of the world...and Kevin assures us and hungry WinMX fan sites that it will be well worth the wait.
