Deep to take Madster Decision to Supreme Court
July 3, 2003

Johnny Deep the creator of Madster has given his opinion of this week's appeal decision and spoken the future direction of the Madster case.
This week an appeals court
ruled against Madster in their appeal of an injunction against the P2P service. The appeal was of a December ruling that ordered Madster to shut it's doors.
Although Madster lost the appeal, the content of the ruling was not entirely against Madster and P2P. Like in the Grokster/StreamCast ruling the judge found some parallels between p2p and betamax despite dismissing an EFF amicus.
Deep is delighted about the rulings
support for the betamax defence. He belives that there is enough in the decision which is in Madster's favor that the decision can be taken to the supreme court. He has told local press that he will ask the supreme court to look at the appeal decision.
He has also said that the appeal injunction lays the grounds for wining a trial.
The Aimster/Madster case is likely to be the first P2P case to reach full trial.
