EFF & Grokster Support Madster Appeal
June 2, 2003
Font Bigger Font Smaller
The EFF, Grokster and StreamCast have filled motions to support Johnny Deep and Madster in their Appeal of the summary judgement issued in the RIAA lawsuit against Madster.

Back last December Madster lost a summary judgement which ordered the service to shut down. Since then Johnny Deep has been involved in litigation to try and get the verdict overturned.

The RIAA and Madster recently filled briefs that have laid the foundation for the appeal.

The appeal has now been supported by several groups including Grokster Ltd, StreamCast, the EFF and others. The EFF recently successfully supported Streamcast in the FastTrack case and will be hoping for similar success here.

The Madster appeal continues in Chicago court with a court hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
