List truly free NZB download sites

Postby maikeru » Sat Jan 29, 2005 5:35 pm

I would like everyone to list all the links of truly free sites that allow nzb downloads. Here are a couple to get started

http://www.dvdrs.net
http://alt.binaries.nl
http://www.nzbzone.com

I Only used dvdrs.net up until recently but now that NZBzone has arrived i don't need use any others it has all the latest stuff listed and is a great site.
I am a newzbin premium account holder but i doubt i will renew my subscription after it runs out as nzbzone.com does what i need for free. true it's not as comprehensive as a proper indexing site but you get all the better stuff very quickly without having to wade thru too much crap.
They also have a good number of members who post to groups and almost all requests are filled by them. (yep you can request also)
A great place for NZB's considering it's only a little over a month old. :D

After hearing about
http://www.nzbzone.com

I have to say this is one of the best free nzb websites around, very proffesional, solid database and very easy to get your hands on those nzb files.

The only thing i worry about this website is that if it will be able to cope with a lot of users visiting the site. It might turn into the next surnova.org but for usenet!! And look what happenned 2 them lol...

Good idea maikeru! :)

Though I don't think there are all that many yet.

I'll make this a sticky thread.

dvdrs.net is now a paid service. I suggest using nzbzone.com for your nzb now.

If you just download off a free newsgroup, are you as safe as downloading off a paid newsgroup?

If you're just downloading, there's probably little difference, though I've yet to find any free ones which are reliable and have any decent amount of binary content.

I dont think so SlyckRay.

I have seen no transformation from a free service to a paid service.

SlyckRay i even asked the admin of NZB-zone and he denied it.

Can i ask u what made u think they were moving to a paid service?

NZBZone is a free service but they don't do requests (they give a reason in the forums as "We do not wish to promote illegal activites"). Highly recommended although as previously said, not as comprehensive as newsBin.

yeah Ray its a register service. I would recommend it though. Even if you use newzbin.com. NZBzone often have stuff that newzbin dont and vice versa.

Nice! Thanks for that :)

I like the way the groups are listed for simple browsing too!

one of the worst nzb sites ever made
it have this stupid idea of ratio (like torrent sites)
and wait time and stuff
i mean with torrent sites its diffrent, but to upload 100k nzb each how long would it take me to reach 25gb (power user stat)
you might not agree with me but i think the idea itself is stupid
