Has Justice Caught Up WIth Pirate Bay Founder Anakata?

So far, the only original source reporting on the arrest of Gottfrid Svartholm, aka Anakata, is Chances are, this is probably true, but no one really knows why he was arrested or on what grounds. For all we know, he could have unpaid parking violations that the local Cambodian traffic authority demands payment on.

However, news has spread fast and The Pirate Bay has at least acknowledged the story, giving credence that indeed he has been arrested. Undeterred, of course, The Pirate Bay is no longer operated by the original crew - so the purported arrest of Anakata will have no bearing on the daily operation of the site:

"So, it looks like one of our founders, Anakata, has been arrested in Cambodia. We do not yet know on what grounds and would encourage people not to speculate.

But, being one of the founders of The Pirate Bay, he has our full support.

We'd like to emphasize that this means no harm to The Pirate Bay. The site is run by a widespread collective of people from all over the world and will not be put down due to 1 or 10 or even 100 arrests.

Cambodia Considers Swedish Request On Pirate Bay Co-Founder ... 3S20120903

Cambodian authorities have arrested a co-founder of Pirate Bay, one of the world's biggest free file-sharing websites, and are considering a request from Sweden to send him there where he faces a jail sentence for breaching copyright laws.

The Swedish man, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, 27, has been living in Cambodia for some time.

An appeals court in Sweden sentenced three others behind the site to between four months and 10 months in prison plus fines in 2010. Warg failed to attend that hearing due to illness and his sentencing was deferred. He had originally been sentenced to a year in prison in 2009.

"We had a request from Sweden to make an arrest as he had committed cyber crime there," police spokesman Kirth Chantharith told Reuters.

I don't hope this on him but would it be the clincher if this guy was dying of a terminal illness like cancer all this time and Hollywood won't get a cent cuz he won't live to complete any sentence or court demands of any kind and all this money they spent trying to find the members of The Pirate Bay all went to waste? Now that would teach these Hollywood trolls a lesson. And if everyone who knows about this stuff and was dying follow suit. Then the RIAA/MPAA would waste billions of court costs and eventually have to shut down due to bills that were not paid to the lawyers. Now that would be due justice served on a silver platter.
