List of scam sites

Postby DaBlade » Fri May 21, 2004 3:34 am

A few mins ago I found a site with a good long list of scam sites to stay away from. I've pasted it below. It might be a good idae to paste them into your HOSTS file. I think it was 127.0.0.1 or something like that...don't remember, since I deleted my HOSTS a while back. BTW, the list came from Beatking

...and somewhere everyone can see them on the front page, like a "Sites you should stay away" title.

Yeah, posting a shortcut to it on the front page! That way visitors who know jack about P2P, downloading or computers in general will get a warning.

just do a search on google for a normal P2P provider like morpheus and you will get alot of scam sites,

http://www.easymusicdownload.com

http://mp3downloadhq.com/

http://www.mymusicinc.com/home.htm

http://www.morpheusultra.com

http://www.morpheusultra.com

http://www.morpheussoftware.net this site is kinda weird, it will let you dl it for free but it will also let you buy it

I think those are in my original list...but there's something I've noticed...there is a "network" of scam sites that unexperienced users may run into. http://www.k-lite.tk/ <----Part of the crapware network...I've seen many sites with that same design. Many of them seem to use rewiews of the original program. A site bastardizing KaZaA Media Desktop used the fact that it was #1 at download.com for ages as an advertisement.

Or you could goto http://s7.invisionfree.com/Mammoth/index.php?showtopic=4 and download the Mammoth HOST files which blocks 101 Fake P2P websites and 1019 Advertising Websites.

Just thought I'd let you people know that Spybot Search & Destroy will add over 1900 known scam sites, ad sites etc. to your hosts file. Just click Immunize.
[code:1]char str[20];
scanf("%19s", &str);
if (!strcmpi(str, "Hello, world!"))
printf("Hello, programmer.\n");[/code:1]
