Nzbmatrix down for anyone else?

I've been having trouble accessing NZB Matrix tonight. Is it down for anyone else?

Using the NZBMatrix accelerator for IE8, there is a status button for the site in the toolbar. This is the message I get right now:

Hosts are currently updating some IP routing. Should be online again soon!

Yes, it is also down for me. My ISP is Virgin Media. Did a search on Google and you will see their status page. However, there is a very quick fix. Enter details below into your host file located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

You do not need to restart your computer. Just restart your browser or just re-visit nzbmatrix.com.

Have just tested this and is working now.

That work's like a charm. Just make sure if you run windows vista you right click on notepad, choose to run as a administrator, and open the host file in notepad. NZBMatrix is doing something with the IP's and it will be about 2-3 day's before everything is updated with your ISP so if you can't wait that's a quick easy way to bypass it. Thanks for posting that I was hating having to use NZBsRus lol.

you have to browse for the file and add it to it by editing it. (i opened it saved the original as .bak and then saved the updated file which has no extension to it). I did it and it now working.

whos fault is this . is it virgins not updated their systems or nzbmatrix?

yes, the changes you made look correct. however, you need to be sure of a couple of other things.

first. be sure you edited a file called just "hosts" and not a file called "hosts.sam" - which is a sample file which looks identical. windows never reads that file, so if you inadvertantly change it, the changes have no effect. one way to be sure this is not the case is by selecting "details" in the view menu for windows explorer for that folder - then you will see the full filename, extension included if appropriate.

once you're sure you're editing the correct file, the next issue can occur when you go to save it. notepad defaults to saving files as .txt - so if you let it do what it wants to do, it will save hosts as hosts.txt, which windows will ignore. when you go to save the file, use the "save as" option, instead of just "save". at the bottom will be a dialog which says "save as type" - it will default to .txt - and that's what you don't want. pull down the arrow and select "All files (*.*)" - and then save it. then you should be in business
