RIAA Drops Claims Against Texas Grandmother Who Counterclaimed for Unlicensed Investigations, in SON

Postby RayBeckerman » Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:11 pm

Story : http://recordingindustryvspeople.blogspot.com/2007/12/riaa-drops-claims-against-

In SONY v. Crain, the Texas case against a grandmother who'd never engaged in filesharing, and who'd been displaced from her home by Hurricane Rita, the RIAA has withdrawn all monetary claims against the defendant, and settled for an injunction, rather than risk the Court's deciding the validity of Ms. Crain's counterclaims based upon the fact that MediaSentry is not a licensed investigator.

I cant see this as a win for the grandmother in reality as the injunction still allows the RIAA economic terrorists to cast a slur on this ladies character when she has not admitted or been found guilty of any offence.

What would have been more favourable was a public apology from their side for their heavy handed tactics that received much publicity and only after receiving it to then enjoin with them in allowing this injunction to to made as a mark of accepting the validity of their rights (of copy) but not their claim.

Looking on the bright side at least this victim of the extortionists is going to have a less stressful xmas and no one can blame her for just wanting the nightmare to come to a close.

Typical RIAA pussies. They're exactly like muggers that were trying to steal this woman's purse but ran off after her strapping young grandson showed up.

RIAA, MPAA: when your kids get leukemia, that's karma, motherfucker. You brought it on them. You're in the wrong and you know it.
