Don't use it for TV series just yet - all the sets are mixed up. It's like someone just did a search for [name of tv show] and grabbed the first results that showed up.

And a 290MB DSRip at 4:3 is a lot different to a 350MB PDTV rip at 16:9, so watch out.

The new Sharereactor's database is the old Sharereactor database (early 2004).

There are some new entries from 2006 but not much in between.

Given time and much work they might catch up.

Sidenote:
As much as i wanted to see the revival of Sharereactor, i hope SM didn't sell it under the impression of a gun to his head to some shady industy sting operation.

For the time being i'm cautiously observing what is going on.
Time will tell ...

Wasn't Hollywood Interactive on a bluetack blocklist a while ago? I remember it was for some kind of rumour about them being in with BAYTSP or something.

Hehe, doesn't exactly create trust that one. :) One would think they'd bothered to come up with a less obvious front.

Of course you can view the new sharereactor site safely.

You don't have to expect the stormtroopers early in the morning for viewing a website. (Could be depending on your geographical location though. Use a proxy then.)

You can even import their ed2k links without fear.
Down- and uploading the stuff is another matter, the usual safety measures (brain, blocklists, ...) are independent from linksites. ;)

But i'd be very careful about posting in their forum for the time being ...

A pity, Simon didn't choose to give any info about the new ownership.
Doesn't exactly quell suspicions.

I did a traceroute and forums.sharereactor.com resolves to 64.27.6.7. I haven't really looked into Hollywood interactive but apparently Revision3 uses servers in this range to host torrents as well.

More info for main site

More info for forum

I believe that PeerGuardian used to block Hollywood Interactives IP range. Not sure if it still does.
I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking, 'Did he use six superfluous adjectives or only five?' To tell the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement - but as I deal in English, the most powerful language in the world with subtle nuances that may blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' Well do you punk?

Hollywood Interactive is a datacenter in LA AKA Calpop AKA IPMotors. It has nothing to do with the MPAA.

Apparently we can expect some more complete info on the mainpage sometime fairly soon, for some reassurance.

A little more patience and a little less conspiracy theories is needed I think :)

I think it will be hard to prove that Sharereactor is now in the hands of an anti-p2p company unless there is concrete evidence.

Revision3, which owns Digg.com, uses a server owned by Hollywood Interactive so it's possible that the new owner of ShareReactor is hosting the forums there because he got a good deal.

SR was the best ed2k link site a few years ago, but there are several great ed2k link sites now so those who are suspicious are better off avoiding the new SR and just stick to the current top ed2k sites.

I did some thinking and if you all remember, alot of the sites that get taken down are getting reborn into new owners and whatnot. (snarf-it.org, http://www.ed2k-it.com , and there are lots more that I can't think of at the moment.

This is a very good sign. :-)

I was thinking it was fishy at first but I thought about it and rebirth is whats happening.

is it dead already?

The site seems to been replaced by a generic ad search site.
