alternative eD2K server lists

Postby in_hiding » Sat Feb 25, 2006 3:26 pm

Now that both Razorback (top eDonkey2000 server) & gruk.org (list of valid ed2k servers) are down and the fake server problem is growing, here are a couple of alternatives to gruk's list.
  • serverlist by ocbMaurice

I just checked out this server list that I haven't used in a loooong time, from the Donkey Network.

The site's front page news is a couple of years old, but by looking at the HTML view of the 'Top Servers' list the script still seems to be working: razorback is not there, and neither are the fakes. Newer good ones like BigBang are listed.
another server list site I haven't visited in a while is still up & running, .

But looking at their html list, plenty of fake servers seem to be included. However I don't know if these are included in the 'Best Servers' met or just in the 'All Servers' met.

Note 1: I haven't checked out these server.mets in eMule yet but will as soon as I get the chance.
Note 2: the links are to met-listing webpages, not directly to the mets.

Good lists:
http://corpo.free.fr/server.met
http://ocbmaurice.no-ip.org/pl/slist.pl ... r-good.met
http://www.edonkey.com/server.met

All other lists contain fake servers (don't use ed2k.2x4u.de/ed2k.has.it)

ocbMaurices's mets are proving to be very good. No fakes, no US-based servers, none in the 64. ip range.

ed2k.has.it's mets don't work when I put their URLs in eMule's "update server list" box; and when I click the "add to eMule" links on their page, it tries to open a new instance of eMule...

eMule-MoDs.de (a respected German-language site that aggregates info on all the eMule mods out there) also has a list of reliable servers, at http://www.emule-mods.de/?servermet=show.

Despite the webpage being called 'Sever.met', it doesn't actually offer a server.met file with lots of servers in one file; instead you click on an individual server listed on the webpage and it's added to your client's server list.

http://corpo.free.fr/server.met seems to be the best one.

Hi, can someone help me out please.

I basically filtered my server list so that only the donkey servers, bigbang servers and bytedevils are there.

However, when i connect to Bigbang server, as soon as i get connected and bunch of other servers flood my server list...

How do I stop this from happening? Is it happening because edonkey updates the .met file and all these other servers are present in the met file? bcause i downloaded a .met file from here..and then manually proceeded to clean it...

thx a lot for your help!

I think there are some things in the Edonkey options server area which may help...I can't remember what they are right now. Maybe "ignore incoming server lists"

'Update server when connecting to a server' and 'Update server list when a client connects' must be off ;)

I usually only connect to eDonkey Server 1-2 and when the list updates from those servers its ok. If something funny happens, I just delete the whole list except for 1 good server and just connect to that one. Bam, I have a good server list back.

Been hunting around, there's a massive server drought in eMule.

www.gruk.org/server.met.gz

is proving unreliable and difficult to connect to

http://www.peerates.net/servers.php

is packed to the fucking gills 24/7!

Kad is doing alright for a change.

What's the deal? :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:

I understand that TBG Blocklists has good blocklists for file-sharers. I don't know about the servers.
