Beta 3.55 will be the only significant upgraded version IMO.

Oh, and Halo is probably still recovering from hitting his head on the ceiling.

:( I can't get VMWare to work, and wine sucks. :(

(Those are windoze emulators)

winmx is on wine's silver list but it didn't run nearly as smooth for me on fedora as on xp.

But the fonts are screwed, and the app is slow.

The fonts are in ~/.wine/config like I said earlier.

NapMX does not export directly into this beta version of WinMX as it used to. You can still use NapMX to create .wsx files to import into WinMX for getting those OpenNap servers though. I imagine the developer of NapMX will fix the problem when WinMX releases another Final again. Just a little FYI for those who might want to know. :)

3.54 Beta 1

Postby passer » Sun Nov 07, 2004 9:16 am

It won't even read my library list. Crashed 3 times, and sent off debug reports. Back to 3.53 and await Beta2!

It looks pretty stable here but I don't like the fact that neither my tabheaders' width nor my file sharing selection list is saved! I have to readjust headers and reselect files every time I start. Frustrating and time-consuming!

Congratulations WinMX! You've managed to make the library component LESS effective and easy to use, not more. I'm skipping this version, too...and if the future versions keep this library component, that'll seriously suck. Besides, even the fabled 'persistent hotlist' may just make it more possible to be tracked (and sued).

Juest to let slyck know, you guys need to update the winmx page with the current version (3.53) and maybe slap in the current beta version also?

For some odd reason, OpenNap is not working for me in this beta. They connect (suspiciously fast) but no search results.

Try searching for some keywords that ought to bring in many results...like for example Eminem or Britney or porn or anything...you know what I mean.

Nope, nothing. It's not that big of deal though. I put the 3.53 exe back in and everything works now so I'm not too worried about it. Hope if gets fixed before the final though because a lot of times they'll force you to download the newest one before connecting.
