A McDonald's Customer Goes Nuts At The Drive-Thru Over No Chicken Nuggets Served During Breakfast

http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/national/a ... breakfast-

Melodi Dushane loves Chicken McNuggets so much she threw a temper tantrum when a McDonald's employee at the drive-thru window told her the restaurant does not serve chicken nuggets during breakfast.

The 25-year-old -- who had placed her order early one morning at a McDonald's in Toledo, Ohio -- burst out of her car and police say she started attacking the employee through the drive-thru window. She then she got into it with the manager.

The manager tried to close the window, but it closed on the irate customer's fingers.

Police arrested Dushane later. She's been indicted by a grand jury.

That is the whole article, but there is a video of the whole attack in the article, she goes absolutely nuts at the window.

Florida Bear Rescued After Getting Head Stuck In Jar

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/08/15/florid ... tml?hpt=T2

It may seem like a story ripped from the pages of "Winnie the Pooh," but a little black bear is alive after Florida biologists removed a plastic bottle stuck on its head for at least 10 days.

The bear, his mother and two siblings regularly raided trash bins in Weirsdale, a small community in the vast Ocala National Forest.

But the situation turned into a jam when the little one, affectionately nicknamed Jarhead, was seen in late July wandering with his head trapped in a clear plastic container, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The 6-month-old cub couldn't eat or drink normally, and was days away from death when he was freed, biologists say.

If anyone remembers this, I posted an article on how to remove all mentions of whatshisname from the web. You know... that teen idol that needs a new hairstyle, or at the very least, a haircut.

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=51518

Yep, that one. Well, it seems that while the mere mention of him (or the sight of his name) can be a total annoyance to many people, at least it appears that he does seem to have some degree of intelligence based on this article below that my cousin's daughter emailed to me. She wanted to let me know that she proudly participated in the phone calling, and the threats following immense disappointment, as mentioned in the article below.

http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/24650512/detail.html (I had to force myself to read it)

I have to say, the teen who hacked his Facebook account (Kevin) should have known not to mess with whatshisname (or his friends and fans), and while Kevin is busy whining that whatshisname took advantage of his celebrity in a full retaliation, Kevin (the now hated hacker) got exactly what he deserved imo.

I can't believe that all those thousands of young females really thought that whatshisname would post his real cell phone number on Twitter.

Woman Dumps Cat In Garbage, Becomes Internet Villain

http://technolog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/20 ... et-villain

A lot of bad things happen in this world, and for the most part, they're pretty easy to ignore without even trying.

But sometimes you just have to make a stand, sit down at your computer, and click a Like button on Facebook to let the whole world know that you are against putting perfectly good tabby cats in wheelie garbage bins.

This woman needs a good bitchslapping and a whole lot more, damn shame they could not arrest her. You can click on the link for "reports the U.K. Sun" within the article to see Lola with her family, the look on their faces says it all.

Nike Patents Plan For Self-Lacing Shoes

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38884033/ns ... nnovation/

Nike has filed a patent for a self-lacing shoe that resembles the sneakers from "Back to the Future 2" so closely, one has to wonder whether a hover-board and flux capacitor could be far behind.

There is currently no timetable for when these shoes may hit the market, but the patent shoes indicate that Nike is definitely working on the technology.

 Interesting....

LOL @ some of the headlines today from CNN website. Both of these articles are actually serious articles (not really intended to be funny), however, the best parts of both articles are the comments following them.

Fake Pill Improved Sex Drive In Women

What To Do When Body Parts Fall Off

LOL @ user grofys: if your eyes fall out, can they still see? if so, you'd have to lift them up to the phone to dial 911.

Man Takes 5-Day Break from Tech - In Bathroom!

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/09/ ... ColumnArea

For most of us, the thought of going a day without Internet access is unbearable. And we could all agree that our reliance on laptops and mobile devices to stay connected has gotten out of hand.

Mark Malkoff is a New York City comedian and self-proclaimed Internet addict who decided to take some drastic steps to curb his addiction.

Malkoff says that, before his experiment, he spent the majority of his time surfing the Web.

"I like the Internet," he said. "I really really like the Internet."

Lol @ "Malkoff says he missed his bed most while in the pink bathroom for five days."

i don't have a very high opinion of rodents. as carl spackler would say, they're varmints. but that's really damn cute, and yes, she's a sweetie.

my contribution is not a headline. it comes from our news submission queue. a thoughtful gentleman from nigeria decided we needed a couple of his selections on the front page. here is his comment on the one he called filesharing news

The Most Expensive Penny

http://www.time.com/time/specials/packa ... 68,00.html

The 1943 copper-alloy cent is one of the most enigmatic coins in American numismatics — and reportedly the most valuable Lincoln penny of all. Just 40 of the coins — probably created by accident, on copper-alloy one-cent blanks left in the presses in the wartime years when pennies were converted to steel — are known to exist. The first 1943 copper cent was sold in 1958 for more than $40,000. In 1996, another went for a whopping $82,500. But those sales pale in comparison with the latest: this week, a dealer in New Jersey sold his 1943 penny for a staggering $1.7 million. Their collection value makes 1943 copper pennies a prime target for counterfeiters: fakes are often made by coating steel cents with copper or altering the dates of 1945, 1948 and 1949 cents. How can you tell if your 1943 copper penny is real? Use a magnet. If the penny sticks, it's not copper. Better luck next time.
That's the whole article.

 $1.7 million for a penny.

Multi, I will be more than happy to offer an explanation for my posts here, if it helps at all. It didn't make sense to create a single new lounge thread for every story of interest that was not necessarily front page news, so I was posting them here. I am unaware that this is an issue for anyone other than you, if it is, then discuss it, and have an admin let me know please.

Yes, I did read what the OP stated originally (below), and I felt that other stories of interest were also acceptable to post here, even if they were not funny ones...

Panasonic Develops Hair-Washing Robot

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/tv/index.cfm?&vid=3242251
(Video)

This could definitely be a plus for hospitals and nursing homes, but I would have liked to see a demonstation on a real person.... one with perhaps, real long hair. I really like seeing new technology, but on a side note, if a caregiver still has to take time to help someone get in the robot thingy, comb out the hair, dry the hair, etc., then a shampoo bowl and chair would be much more cost effective.

Man Denies Crack In Buttocks Is His <---- What a headline...lol

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39508920/ns ... ?GT1=43001

When sheriff's deputies allegedly discovered bags of marijuana and cocaine between a man's buttocks, they said he gave a quick explanation. Manatee County deputies said Raymond Stanley Roberts told them "The white stuff is not mine, but the weed is."

Deputies stopped the 25-year-old Wednesday in Bradenton for speeding. Officers said they smelled marijuana and searched him. That's when they allegedly found a bag of marijuana between Roberts' buttocks.

Officers then discovered another bag in there; the report said it contained 27 pieces of rock cocaine, also known as crack.

The Bradenton Herald reported Roberts was arrested for drug possession and has bonded out of jail. The person who answered Friday at a phone number listed for Roberts said it wasn't his.

Teen Passes Driver's Test, Hits Bridgeville DMV

http://kdka.com/local/Bridgeville.DMV.a ... 61079.html

A teenager who had just passed his driver's test crashed into the Bridgeville DMV.

KDKA's Kym Gable reports that as the boy was leaving, he put his car in drive instead of reverse in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center.

Collier Township police say the driver was dropping off the driver's license examiner. The instructor had just gotten out of the vehicle when it plowed through the front door and into the DMV.

Lol, oops.

Man Rescued After Losing Cell Phone Down Toilet

http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-20020 ... =cnetRiver

Men make mistakes. Then they try to rectify them. Which might be mistake number two.

Who cannot sympathize with a man from the Jiangsu province in China whose cell phone sadly disappeared into the toilet?

ITN News doesn't record quite how the cell phone managed to disappear down where the blue goldfish swim, but what seems clear is that the man tried to reach down to retrieve his vital gadget.

Unfortunately, as this footage from China News makes clear, the man ended up flushed with embarrassment, as his arm became wedged in a place where it is unwise to leave anything wedged.
Video included in article, but the language is Chinese.

More U.S. Panda News For Anyone Interested...

If anyone recalls this post --> viewtopic.php?p=543471#p543471 that I made when the U.S. had to send panda cub Mei Lan (and another cub) back to China, I am happy to provide an update that Lun Lun, Mei Lan's mom at The Atlanta Zoo, is due anytime from now to within 7 to 14 days to give birth to her third panda cub, which will be the first panda cub born in the U.S. this year. Pandas are an endangered species, so a new cub being born is not only thrilling news for the species, but for those of us working hard on the campaign to keep pandas at The Atlanta Zoo, it's more than just exciting news.

Police Investigate Burglary Of Virtual Facebook Home

http://www.metro.co.uk/tech/845101-face ... ciety-home

When Paola Letizia discovered a burglar had ransacked her flat, she called police straight away.

Now the hunt is on for the thief – even though the property they broke into was a virtual home, designed for a virtual pet and decorated with virtual paintings and furniture.

Still, the hacker cannot be accused of being a cat burglar – the only thing left in the seven-room online flat was its ‘resident’, Blue Cat.

Ms Letizia spent about £88 kitting out the home for the Facebook game Pet Society, played by 12million people each month.

Personally, I think the author in this article below made the story much more entertaining, lol.
http://technolog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/20 ... e-burglary

Coming soon "To catch a virtual thief" series. Maybe her family was trying to tell her something about how NOT to spend money on Facebook.

High School students suspended for riding a horse to school

A senior at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School was suspended for two days last week after the 17-year-old dressed as a knight and took a three-minute tour on his family’s horse around the school. A friend who dressed as a squire and led the horse by the reins was given a one-day suspension and two hours community service.
