Useful information, but they should put it upfront on the website, where it's really needed, instead of making users hunt down this information in the back pages of their user forum.

Note:

If you do not upgrade or cancel your account before the end of the 14 day trial you will automatically be signed up for the UseNeXT 15+ package, which is a 12 month membership (single payment).

They call it a "RISK-FREE" trial, but one mistake and you lose $103.92. (the website doesn't mention that, either)

I wish that all providers would de-peer Usenext. It's been a haven for spammers and sporgers and slapping them with a UDP would clean up usenet immensely. Checking the header info of these viruses (spammed by the thousands) shows that most come from Usenext. But I've never come across a legitimate post that originated from their servers.

Just what we need - a usenext shill signing up just to post .

Hey jackass, piss off and go back to sucking in the uninformed - your employer seems to have a history of that.

You signed up to these forums and resurrected a thread from over a year ago, just to shill for your employer.
Exactly what did I miss in your shill (errr I mean 'post') ??

Yes you did 'inform' - you informed us that you are a usenext troll.
Get back under your bridge.

No kidding... shill indeed...

Usenext, while they may very well be a legitimate business (hey, I said they MAY be) there aren't many veterans left here that would believe anything that comes from them.

Reading the free trial stuff - is pretty funny, sure...just cancel anytime, and then impossible to get ahold of them (miraculously hunh?) to get the service cut....ya, wonderful.

Not to mention coming on and saying they have the BEST software available, doesn't help your cause, becuase they KNOW you are bullshitting, and why would they want to spend their money on a company that bullshits?

Yay, chatroom and forum!!! Wow, now where could I ever get such an awesome service?? Hmm, I guess Slyck isn't a forum :)

There are already many good usenet companies that compete fiercely with each other to attract and keep customers by offering the best service and value.

But as far as 'working a scam' goes, it seems UseNeXT has that field all to themselves.

Why else would a company try to snag first-time "trial" users for a whole year? Because they know that it might only take a month or two before people eventually wise up and leave?

I used usenext about 2 years ago for one or two months. Then after that I haven't used usenext.
But then I got an email last year on Feb 2008 that they renew my account if i pay the amount otherwise
if i do not pay them within 10 days they will suspend my account meaning I will not be able to use Usenext. Since I didn't want to get involve with Usenext I didn't continue with them.

I got an email from Usenext about 2 days ago stated as follows:

Reminder

Customer Number: ---------

Dear -----------

we have not yet received the outstanding payment for your current contract with UseNeXT.
The reason could be a typing error in your payment details. Alternatively, out-dated data may have been entered during registration.

*******************************************************************
Please check your payment details immediately following this link:
http://usenext.de/index.cfm?sInkaUUID=- ... ----------

In case you are prompted, please enter this number: ---------------------------------------------------
and follow the instructions.
*******************************************************************

We await your payment until 30.06.2009.

The bill was from Feb 2008 to Feb 2009

After exactly 1 and half year they send me the reminder. The money I had to pay was approx. 100 euro.
I mean why should I pay for something I haven't used. Doesn't it sound suspicious after a year.

Someone please, help me. I am in a trouble and I am unable to sleep because of this problem.

Thanks in advance

Did you actually CANCEL the subscription, or just stop using it?

This is like with everything else in life, ie if you have a cable tv subscription but don't watch tv for a month you still have to pay for the subscription if you didn't cancel the service or put it on hold etc.

But then you'll be deducted or receive the bill for Cable TV Subscrition after each and every month right. But I got an email reminder after 1 year. I haven't seen any company that would tell me pay certain amount after 1 year suddenly.
I cancelled the membership and stopped using UseNext 2 years ago which I had to pay was I think 14 euro I guess.

I will show you the email they sent me 1 year ago.

Hello -----------,

It clearly says the account will be suspended.
Don't you think it suspicious after 1 year. I also heard that some of the people also had the
same problem and they gave their details and was deducted more. I don't want my account
to be charged like that.
What kind of company will tell you to pay after 1 year. Simply put Usenext is scam trying to
loot people.
What I am asking is over here is that someone please help me with this matter.
Thanks in advance.

The thing with Usenext, is they will try to find anyway to sucker money out of people...find the smallest loophole in order to bill you. Not like their service is worth it (from what I have read here).

If you did cancel the subscription, and by that I don't mean letting it get suspended due to lack of payment or by not using it, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Just inform them that you have cancelled, and that you will not pay for a new cycle.

I even tried Usenext myself once a while back. Cancelled within the stated trial-period, and haven't heard or seen from them since.

I may have posted this before, but I think Usenext still owes me money from 2-3 years ago?

If I remember, the "trial" was practically impossible to cancel.

I sign up for almost every provider at some point just to see what they got, what their service is live, their support, etc. Usenext does not make the top page of my recommended.
