No problems so far

I've blotted out the user name and password, of course, but this is what 100proofnews said (my origenal eMail is at the bottom the quoted section). heh, got a trial account and didn't even ask for it.... just letting you guys now.Unfortunately, retention is currently quite short. We had been working on an issue with the software company, but they are unable to correct the issue in the current build. They are working on a new project that will be more robust, but it will be some time before this is received.
In the mean time, we have taken steps to counter what we were seeing, but this has shortened retention to 2-4 days. Once the software is received and online, it should stabilize around 12-15 days.
I have setup a test account, in case we could be of service in the mean time.
Your username and password are as follows:
Username: *****
Password: *********
Please use News.100ProofNews.com as the news server name. For setup info, please refer to http://www.100ProofNews.com/setup.htm
If we do not currently meet your needs, I would be glad to setup another test account once the new software is received.
Thank you,
Stuart Hahn

how is retention for 100proofnews for binary newsgroups? for text?
I didn't see any statistics reguarding this on you web page; thanks.

They have great retention, and rarely do I find a missing piece that is not reposted in a timely manner. Plus I'm on the 1.5gb/day at $6.95 per month. They have larger accounts, but I've not seen it throttle back, and I've gotten well over 1.5 gb in a 24 hr period. It allows multiple feeds as well.
Give them a look.
i am using buzzardnews.com right now but i find the 1.5 GB cap a bit annoying as i can download at 160 KB/s. i am downloading a huge file right now. i had to stop at 4 pm and i can't resume it until midnight.
