Meh, IRC became outdated when websites started using mroe than plain text. And unlike newsgroups, which have managed to adapt and offer something new, IRC for many was a bit useless.

True. And IRC downloads are more prone to corruption (errors in transmission) than other media. I haven't picked up something useful over IRC in quite a while.

There is room for both IRC, newsgroups, bittorent etc. As long as they get me free wares it's all good.
This is so much fun! :-)

IRC is still useful for that hard to find MP3. Though, by the time I'm out of que and down downloading the mp3 on irc I would have already unpacked the entire album using newsgroups..

Either way, IRC was fun when it started out. I loved confusing the heck out of my friends with it, they were never able to figure it out.
