I know many people are horrified by that kind of spyware people are willing to install on their PC but I'm desperate for the money. I don't mind them monitoring the sites I visit. The service hasn't even gone live yet so don't know how much they're going to pay me for having their viewbar on my PC but if it's $20 like AllAdvantage I'll be really happy as that's enough for a MMORPG subscription and $5 extra which will go into paying my Usenet bill. Heck, I'll be happy with even $10, if it's less than that I won't use it.

I nor they are misleading anyone.LD50% wrote:vazel wrote:That link like it says is a referral link so I guess you can say I'm on commission. Whilst I am saddened by your desperate situation, encouraging the lesser informed to do silly things with their computers is very irresponsible.
You are, I am sure, aware of whom this shmuck company is run by? You obviously fully understand the implications of this shit on your windows machine?
Why would you want to be party to that? You seem like an intelligent sort, what's up? For what it's worth they never paid out the last time, they did, however, make many millions for themselves.....
....and doubtless will again, hopefully without your help!
Now what's this scam your alluding to? Links?
Thanks.Unbiased_Opinion wrote:Vazel, there are various eMule mods that use slot-focus which GREATLY reduces the amount of total upload slots you have running. Even if you aren't a 'releaser', the ed2k network can greatly benefit from the various features in the eMule mods.
Take a look at all the different 'mod' features.

Bandwidth isn't an issue. I pay a flat fee each month for an uncapped 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up. This isn't meant to make me rich. Just earn me enough money for one MMORPG subscription.LD50% wrote:Ok, this is getting dull, Vazel, we will all be very interested to see just how much of your bandwidth, YOU pay for to forward their advertising will make you rich. I also think it is not unreasonable to inform people on Slyck who do not know about this very dubious crap that died years ago due to lies and miraculously is resurrected by the same company directors?
If you can't see it for what it is, then good luck to you.
You are our guinea pig, please report often...
vazel wrote:My point is that this is why eMule is slow. Everyone has more upload slots than they should with their bandwidth. I would much rather like the option to set a maximum number of upload slots so I can upload to 4 people at decent speeds instead of uploading to 19 people at abysmal speeds.
vazel wrote:How so? Having less slots means you dedicate your bandwidth to giving those fewer people a faster upload instead of spreading out your bandwidth among many people.

most people cant download from you faster than 16k. even if you have more to give.
i can give it one slot doing 55k and nobody ever gets that much... 15-20max usually.
so i leave it at 3 slots / 50k total anymore. its about the best it will do.

That could very well answer the age old question a lot of peoiple ask on here and other forums...
"why is my emule so slow?"
It could just be the way it is built or can't handle the connections.

torrent is more open and will allow you to download before uploading.

something i have not tried to cheat mule/donkey is to set up 2 accounts on 2 seperate computers on the same network and share files back and forth between each other to build up credit.
eMule is fast, I have recorded 692kbps download speeds. If thats not fast, I don't know what is.
