You should dump FakeTrack completely. If you for some reason beyond my comprehention don't wanna do that, I suggest asking on kltforums.com.
Stick with BitTorrent, or try one of the new anonymous networks such as GNUnet.

kazaa light was blocked by kazaa long ago.
You could not be using it unless you really like.

Don't bother with FastTrack. Last year, I got two people pried away from that thing. The moment I got them to try even one other network (G2), they were bewildered at how many search results they got (and never looked back)

If you are completely attached to that format try BearShare Lite or something long those lines....

I wish people would realise that making a transition from FastTrack straight to BitTorrent is actually a tall order for someone who has only known FasyTrack. BitTorrent is a protocol that acts so differently then FastTrack clients, that it's a very steep learning curve from one to the other. It's why I recommendd Shareaza to people wanting to upgrade their filesharing experience even though it's not the best client to be using.

I should know about the steep learning curve as I actually did it. Trust me, it was like learning an entirely different language - and by no means was it easy. I did it because I had a very large amount of patience for things like this and after about 48 hours of cussing and swearing, I finally figured it out. I use a more complicated app now and have learned the ropes since then of course. Simply put, just because you know all the ins and outs of an app doesn't mean everyone does.

Why do you use kazaa? there are clients that looks like kazaa and are 100 times better. Try Ares, or some gnutella client, I like them most: BearShare Lite, Sharezza, KCeasy :) If you really wanna use FT try KCeasy and download a FT plugin... it connects wery fast(not at the first time) and it has wery good search results better than K lite. But i still recomend BearShare Lite most it looks like BS uses its own part of gnutella, i have never seen a other gnutella client download from me :S Ares is good to, it isnt that fast as BearShare Lite..

Sharezza, BearShare Lite, Ares and KCeasy is free from Adware or spyware :)

What do people like about kazaa/fasttrack?!

Ares is gonna be your best bet. Its really simple, just search and click. You dont even to fiddle with any settings. The interface is really clean too.

@P2P G, people dont exactly 'like' kazaa/ft. Those users usually dont even know of any other p2p networks and programs.

And get great speeds too. But it might be too much of a hassle for gus. He did come from Kazaa Lite.

your connection problem can be because of supernode patch or tcp patch or just plain old connection problems.

download supernode patch first and see what happens, you can download it here

I just read this thread. This explains why I haven't been able to connect using any version of Kazaa Lite.

I clicked the link to the supernode patch, but those links on the other site don't seem to work: they go around in circles and I don't see a way to download anything.

What other programs are people using? I have eMule Project which I like, but I can't find some things there which I know I had been able to find through Kazaa Lite in the past.

Read Abou105's second post (the one with all the 3 links in it)

Though generally speaking, if you can't find it on eMule, you won't find it anywhere. In another thread, someone reported that FastTrack has fallen to less than 200,000 users (though it's probably still just a rough estimate)

I know that if you're looking for electronica music, you can also go to CC sites. A lot of them have an endless supply of free and legal music as a lot of the free music is actualy quite good.

I would also like to suggest a site called Jamendo which also features a lot of free and legit music. I do believe the variety is greater, though there is the occasional false search result.

You might also like to try searching by album on eMule. That also helps a lot as opposed to just searching for individual MP3's.
