From my (admittedly blinkered) perspective, Slyck is primarily a P2P news site with the rest amounting to an extremely valuable bonus. As Tom says, the forums are plentiful and independent.
Editorial control is something that has to be expected, otherwise we see duplicate threads of the kind that have slipped through the net over the past couple of weeks or we could risk losing our objectivity. Common sense filtering, perhaps, censorship, never.
As a relatively new member of the team, my focus is to produce original Slyck material, and I get a lot of helpful input from the others.
Any article I submit is submitted for approval in much the same manner as any news item, although I have to say that editorial input has always been objective.
I think the approval system is good, it deals with the front page only and helps to keep us - and therefore Slyck - on track as a credible - dare I say reputable - source of news.
