FTD id's and refers

Postby fernandose » Wed Mar 30, 2005 3:39 pm

Hi, Just a quick note to all newcomers.

If you come accross a post with a FTD number

e.g FTD#344346 BEST.MOVIE.EVER.XVID-LRC.r01

then goto

http://nfo.ftd.nu/

type in that number you see in the subject and the nfo for that release is available online.

Done! Good tip! :)
There are 10 types of people in the World; those who understand binary, and those who do not.

jfc lol - I wish I could get the FTD remote working again - for some reason the gd thing won't remember my name and password, and most times when I try to create a new one I get a bunch of Dutch, which I think translates to something along the lines of "Sorry, we're not accepting new members at the current time."

Oh, well, I guess since I use alt-bin.com to check theirs, I can use other online sites as well to check posts.

But to tell you the truth, since I never got a lot of experience with FTD, and I *have* gotten a lot of experience with alt-bin, I like the alt-bin method. Especially now that they added a search on the front page and restarted the umbering sequence....

Yah, that is what I meant - would be a *lot* nicer if they would make an English localized version - but then again, by *not* doing so they are saving their butts by minimizing exposure...

That is why we created FTX ( http://www.ftxforum.com ) Most of the other indexing sites (FTD, FTN, FTA, FTR, FTU etc) are dutch. FTX is completely english and completely free, only a registration is required to use the site. Feel free to check it out!

Here some info on EFNET # you find in posts.

[ 7568 ]-[ #alt.binaries.games.xbox@EFNet ]-[ Full ]-[00/23]-"7568.nzb" (1/1)

Then you can go to
http://www.abgx.net and look for the filling db.

[2855]-[#altbin@EFnet]-[full]-[Join the channel and ask]-[000/109] - "2855 nzb" (1/4)

Then go to http://www.altbin.com and lookup the #.

If you cant find a release # anywhere you can also try http://nfo.ngindex.com and search for the NFO.

Hope this helps.

Alot of the files have the name of the release in the nfo as well, always check that first.

FT's are dutch usenet communities. The one that started them all is FTD but it is also the worst of them because all the users flood usenet with their shitty posts. FTA is a clone of FTD but it is much better (more professional with better regulation).

Hey,
is there some page that just keeps a clean list of TV, XviD and DVD items released through the #altbin@EFNet system?

Like what the "txt list" pages on http://www.abgx.net/status.php?type=1&ch=8 does for games.

The page http://www.altbin.com mentioned earlier in this thread doesn't work.

For xvid:

http://www.alt-bin.com/index.php?pg=fd& ... ovies.divx

Follow page links at the top to other areas and click on 'past 30 days' in left hand menu.

For x.264 HD movies:
