Hi, I'm sure this kind of question gets asked a lot but I couldn't see anything that easily when I was searching through the posts!

I'm in Germany now and want to use Astraweb to download some stuff... but is it unsafe to do so over here?

Thanks, Aido

moin, aido, and welcome to slyck :)

i don't think you would have any problems. astraweb offers free SSL. as long as you're using it, no third party can tell what you're doing.

unless the 3rd party has connections with the usa nsa.

as long as you download you are safe since isps and copyright conglomerates just care about uploads.

if you are downloading child porn then you are taking a big risk since that is universally taboo

yeah astraweb is safe, and all tinfoil hats aside, the NSA has better things to do than worry about what you're downloading in Germany. and i thought i was paranoid smh...

cool, thanks guys... that's what I thought but wanted a second opinion anyway!

although, I had read that in germany downloading as well as uploading is an offense (well... depending on what you're downloading of course :tinfoilhat: )
