Usenet in Asia?

Postby justin3 » Sat Sep 25, 2010 9:11 am

I have always wondered why the developed Asian countries are not more active in usenet. It seems like it would be the kind of thing they would love. Any thoughts on why this is the case? Anyone know of a single usenet provider based out of Asia? It is regulations causing the issue?

Usenet is huge in Japan and Korea.
I know there used to be an issue with feeds between Asia and the rest of the world, so they've had their own local providers and used their own hierarchies, mainly. (jp.* and kr.*)
At least one of the "normal" top tier NSP:s does have local servers in Japan, however.
