What's happening to Usenet?

Postby sweetpete » Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:53 am

I went on Newzbin the other day, and it seems like almost everything contains viruses and the like. What's going on? Anyone else finding this?

Meh - it's just the usual morons putting up viruses or passworded releases that link to scam sites etc. If you go to binsearch and type in PASSWORDED MALWARE there's a wonderful bloke/group called tennative that is posting what is malware. Helps a lot.

The idiots will move along after a while. It can't be that profitable to find a release, pack it with a password, create a site with a survey/malware to get the password when because give it a few hours, and someone will have posted up another copy anyway.
