Postby swallace » Sat Jul 18, 2009 9:12 pm

When I say block account, I mean xGB billed but not billed monthly. Would be good if they accept paypal.

Try http://usenet-news.net/index1.php?url=get or http://www.news.astraweb.com/. I've been using the first for a couple years now without any issues, and the latter for five or six years. Both are great and they have a variety of block sizes available.

The poster was looking for preferably Paypal so keep in mind he will not get adult groups when paying with paypal at Usenet-News. There prices look to be a bit higher compared to whats out there now too.

It depends on how many GB you want but the best deals I've seen lately in the 200GB range are:
BlockNews.net - 200 GB for $25
Astraweb.com - 180 GB for $25
Usenet-News.net - 200 GB for $27

All three providers offer non-expiring block accounts. Be careful when looking around at block plans because some providers expire them after a period of time.

That information about PayPal is obsolete, Adult groups are available even with PayPal, and you possibly haven't checked our pricing lately either.

Another vote for Usenet-News because I can buy small blocks when I'm broke and
desperate to grab something from usenet!

2GB, 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, 30GB, or 50GB block sizes available, very flexible and suits me fine.

I would recommend Astraweb since I have a very good impression of their service using an unlimited account. I doubt a block account would be worse. I value retention and completion and Astraweb is excellent in that regard.

Speed is good for me too. Always maxed out my connection with 5 connections.

My apologies, it was eluded to in the faqs on your site though, so unless you changed this policy right after I posted, no one will know unless they read this post. I got prices mixed up to. I think I was looking at Newsdemon at the same time which seem out of this world, since they expire after a year. Yours look good though. A nudge higher than blocknews, but looks like you have good reviews here! Cheers!
