Postby nomad » Fri Jun 12, 2009 2:59 pm

hello everybody, im new in this forum and a newbie in usenet and my question is:

i would like to subscribe a site or a usenet site where i could be able to browse for pictures, music, and videos without the need to download any third software like the newsreader, i am already using "" but i would like to browse for more newsgroups

my question is

wich usenet provider do you think is better for me or what do you recommend to me to do??

is giganews, easynews, newsdemon with that capability or do i have to download the newsreader to do it??

If you want video and pics without installing any apps stick with streaming sites like YouTube or Megashare. If you want usenet why do you have a problem with installing a newsreader? Most are quite lightweight and safe applications. If your issue is with expense there are plenty of free options, I use Grabit myself:

If you want to download video you may find that you have to install several apps, such as a parity checker and an archiver (if you need to ask why read the guide linked below). The following apps are free and effective for these tasks:

However at the end of the day, the only way to get quality of service with usenet is to pay for a service. I use Usenet-News as they offer non-expiring blocks that you can use any time:

Of course this site is a mine of info if you want to find out more, just start with the guide if you haven't already. Happy leeching!

The newsreader that comes closest to a browser is BinTube Usenet Reader.
It streams and/or downloads video, audio and pictures without the need to install several apps (Quickpar, winrar, 7-zip). Best of all it's free whith an unlimited Usenet account from BinTube, currently $10.99 / month.

Easynews and Newsguy offer web interfaces but for your purposes I would suggest a lightweight client. Two that come to mind are tied to Usenet services which makes them even easier to setup - BinTube and Binverse.
