I installed PAN newsreader and I had a bad experience, which I wanted to share in the
"User Comments" section of the PAN page, but I can't figure out how to do that. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Bluehawk

Hi Bluehawk...unfortunately the comment section is disabled at this time. Fixing that is on our to-do list, and we hope to have it working again soon!

That's too bad, as Slyck is my most favorite info site regarding newsgroups.

It would be nice if the NZBGet page (http://www.slyck.com/prog.php?id=349) were brought up to date as well. NZBGet is very much under active development. A new developer took the reins over a year ago and a lot of cool things have been happening there.

That new developer wouldnt be you would it? You certainly sound as if you have at least some connection to it. Not that its a bad thing, we encourage devs to come and discuss their P2P apps here, just nice if they say so first.

-old thread-

I'm running pan 0.135 on Vinders (XP) right now. http://pan.rebelbase.com/

Accessing those pages, scroll to the bottom of *downloads* for the google-docs url.

I installed the ...latest ash msi and ash themes. I let my machine put everything where it wanted to put it.

I had an earlier v installed and un-installed a year ago. It was too much learning for me, or I didn't have the time to fool with it. Anyway 0.135 still didn't seem to work as well as I thought. Or well the gui was *off*.

A pleasant coincidence was that I also decided to d/l the latest v of Open Office (for Windows) the same day as I was fooling with pan. The entire ball of wax. Afaik OO is open source and requires certain Windows-specific libraries to function. I'm guessing that 'some' of those libraries were helpful to the pan install. Just a few thoughts.

Cheers
