Found in a search on Google with an inquiry of "nzbsrus down"...

ALL USERS
Today our host made a mistake and switched our dns records by accident. This brought the site down for about
45 minutes, the mistake has been reverted
You may get errors with ssl and or dns until everything propagates again.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

seeing so many sites going down first nzbmatrix now nzbsrus i was wondering is there any software that can be run on mac or pc that we can be our own indexer/nzb generator where it would scan all the groups and build nzb files from the headers?

sickbeard seems to only do tv and movies

Newznab seems to be what most of the new "start-ups" are using:

http://www.reddit.com/r/usenet/search?q=newznab

Couchpotato does movies and Headphones does Music.

I considered making a forum section for Newznab a while ago, but there didn't seem to be a lot of interest in it at the time. Perhaps now there would be ...

I've been running my own private Newznab server from a VM on my network for about 9 months now. It's certainly a good piece of software and, for the most part, it works well, but to get the most out of it and to be able to fix it when it's broke, some programming/scripting/SQL/Regex knowledge is required. It's quite resource hungry too, especially if you add a lot of groups. It doesn't use much bandwidth but it needs to update frequently/continuously just to keep up (even without backfilling) and the database will quickly eat up your hard drive space unless you keep retention down to a minimum.

A much less resource-intensive and easier to maintain alternative is SpotWeb. It's so light-weight in fact that some poeple successfully run it on a Raspberry Pi. However, SpotWeb relies on 'spots' of course, meaning that it's not a true, raw indexer of newsgroups like Newznab. That can be a good thing in helping to filter out the junk but, in my experience, it can mean quite a lot of genuine releases get missed/delayed too.

There's an 'easy' version of SpotWeb that, I believe, allows you to set up and use a local installation of SpotWeb without having to setup a web server -- I haven't tried it though. I'm sure I saw a similar project to do the same with Newznab in fact, but I can't find it right now.

CouchPotato is good (for movies) but it's not, strictly speaking, an indexer, or at least it's not a 'raw' indexer like Newznab. It provides a higher level of indexing which it generates by searching indexers like Newznab. Similarly, Sick Beard does the same for TV shows (and so does NzbDrone, I believe). Headphones (for music) is promising, but I think it needs a bit more development -- the results were somewhat intermittent and unreliable the last time I tried it.
