and perhaps a thousand times that many people downloaded and installed Kazaa and put Spyware on their computers. So I guess we should all just join the mass of mindless lemmings as they plunge headfirst over the cliff. :?

Slyder23 wrote:So please try UseNeXT yourself

I'll try it when you offer a totally-free (no credit card req'd) trial that will let me use my own client software of choice. Experience has taught me that companies that deceive people and send out shills to push their lies also tend to do other underhanded stuff like putting secret backdoors in the software.

Slyder23 wrote:I will always defend this service

but will you ever acknowledge the obvious and admit that you work for Usenext? Or are you going to keep pretending that you have no connection to them? Forums like Slyck are for P2P users - not company reps exploiting the boards as free advertising space to spew their propaganda.

Registering with the version on Download.com no credit card is required, only your email address is required when installing the client - no more data at all. After 2 weeks you can even get another 2 weeks for free by registering on their website. I, for one did it that way...

Again - I'm not linked to UseNeXT in any way, I am just really happy with their service and can't stand reading false accusations being spammed to different forums by users like "usenext suck". Here at Slyck I seem to be the only one defending UseNeXT :? - is really no one else daring to post something here who has at least already installed the client and made his own experience? Since no user complainig about UseNeXT here in this thread has even bothered testing it - for free!

slyder.....maybe its time to hang it up. you're not about to cinvince anyone here about the greatness of usenext.

most of us are using premium usenet providers, and are very satisfied. so why would any of us try it, when there is so much shadyness as to thier business practices etc.?

let slyder continue.
it was his shilling and the rebuttals here that convinced a noob like me not to go near usenext.

sure i'm not the only one.

Hey tm, do you remember the first wave of ES5 shills? The main one was "Monyak" (SharePro's 'informative' clone).

What came next?

Just to save UseNext time: You end up being hated by even your most hardcore of fans. Your site closes. You open up some lame links site while the entire Internet is served with so much laughter it almost made seeing our boards spammed by shills and idiots worthwhile.

ok let me get this straight. the l33t new world order usenet crowd feel so threatened by the usenext revolution making usenet useful to everyone that they feel compelled to come to forums, and fabricate stories to libel the wrongfully hated friend of the people. does that sum it up accurately?

The UseNeXt scam

It ought to be obvious from the way they spread their annoying full page ads over the main windows of some sites that they are at least shady. As for whom to trust, that is based on experience. I have used Slyck to research a number of things (not all of them p2p either) and have never been steered wrong. I sort of came upon this thread by accident--I did a search to see if anyone else was getting those damned ads with no "close" control and lo and behold there's slyder23 just like he was several weeks ago touting his client for all he's worth on one hand and denying he's a shill on the other. Well, "if it quacks like a duck,...etc." (By the way, does anyone know a way around those ads? they aren't ordinary popups)[/b]

find the site its comming from.

add it to your hosts file in windows or linux.

nothing will ever come from that site again... lol

Have you been reading the title of this topic? Or did you see "usenext sucks" and immediatly think, "Oh, shit, another witness. Better shut him up and try to get more hapless noobs onto the bandwagon of fake stats." Usenext sucks didn't get ANY free trial, and was charged within 12 hours IIRC.

A Scam Site takes your money and then offers some poor links to free torrent clients and search engines, but UseNeXT will offer you an excellent usenet experience: exclusive access to 8 server farms and an unique, easy to use, usenet client! - And that is true, there is no one, who can deny this!

There are obviously people who can and probably will deny this, seeing as they were fucked over by the likes of you people. I'm pretty sure that those are fake stats that are made to draw Joe Average and little AnyKid into your cash-sucking void of a product.

You even can TRY THIS USENEXT CLIENT FOR FREE only by registering with you email address, if you get the version at Download.com http://www.download.com/UseNeXT/3000-2164_4-10507007.html. Download.com does not list scam sites and more then 150,000 people obviously already downloaded this client, are they all nuts?

"Try it for free". Yes, that gives you at least a DEMO of a "good" product. Then the poor saps that think, "Hey, this seems good, maybe I'll pay for it!" happily donate their hard earned money to a shill like this, and probably don't even get a quarter of what is promised. As for the 150,000 people that downloaded the free trial? I wonder how many people can be in on a scam... Or if there is a script writer out there somewhere that can download this one file multiple times. Of course, he would also be in on the scam, because WHY would any user with any BRAINS even think of using this shill of a product?!

Also UseNeXT is listed as a merchant at Commission Junction, see http://www.cj.com/newadvertisers/#76. As you know Commission Junction has very strict rules for including new advertisers in their network - a scam site would have no chance here.

There IS such a thing as bribery. Pay a site, site gives good grades on product. That's been going on since the days of Fable, which was set pretty far back. ;)

So please try UseNeXT yourself before writing negative and absolutley wrong statements here. As I wrote before, I think that we have some usenet freaks here at Slyck.com, who hate UseNeXT, because it makes usenet downloads so simple for the masses!

Such freaks will never give UseNeXT a chance, but all others should try this software, you won't find any better way to get your favorite files with maximum speed - for me, UseNeXT is perfect and I will always defend this service as long as I will see false accusations like here in this forum!

Slyck is a MATURE forum. Anything that the regulars - and sometimes even the newer members - say, I will usually not speculate on what they say. That being said, I will not just jump on the band waggon. But, there have been numerous reports about UseNext being a scam. Think all these people have been talking to each other on their wrist-watches, plotting to bring UseNext, a program/product that has gotten "negative and absolutley wrong statements", down? I think not. Maybe it's just common knowledge that your program is a SHILL.

Sorry. Never did like Kazaa. God only knows what your shit thing has bundled with it, besides a fraud.

I don't want to lose my PC to spyware again, and I sure as HELL don't want more spam in my email than I already have.

Go advertise somewhere else, please, can't you see we don't want you and your junk here?

- I must first say to you all - Yes I did get the software, which was ok I guess... I did use it but cancelled as soon as I realised I was being charged -
------------------

Slyder, you are so full of crap and you're just embarassing yourself (as I am coming here admitting I fell for your stupid scam but I think it's worth it to tell people).
I did sign up for the 14 day trial and you charged me about 1 hour later.

I have since emailed USENEXT 4 times - (nice long queue of 413 you had there!) with no reply given as yet except one basically avoiding the subject in question and giving me the run-around with no refund offered.

Go to: http://www.roadrider.com.au/usenext_is_a_scam

And you'll see the copies of all the emails I've sent you, the order I made and the receipt you sent me. And this all happened within 48 hours. I signed up, you charged me, I cancelled.

I notice you removed the comment about not charging people while on the 14 day free trial??

Luckily I took a screen grab of that while it still existed to give to my bank. This can also be found at:
http://www.roadrider.com.au/usenext_is_a_scam

I have posted both screen grabs of my emails and what your site used to say.

I have very simple questions for you:

1. Why was I charged during the free trial when it says, in bold I will NOT be charged and you're saying you've never charged people??

2. Why did you remove that comment from the site?

3. Why have I not received a reply?

4. How do you live with yourself you slimy piece of cyber scum??

well gl with it usenext sucks at least you'll get your money back, way to be the concientious consumer! Scammers wouldn't be scamming people unless its profitable. By not backing down, you hurt these scam artists in 2 ways.

1> obvious negative publicity

2> when your credit card company processes your chargeback and I am sure there are others who are doing the same. It will be much easier for others who are scammed to get their money back also because of UseNext's history of abuse, even if they don't have the hard evidence you provided. In fact, if the abuse continues, UseNext will probably lose their CC merchant account privileges. :D

- If you want to go the extra mile you can file a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) of your country or state. For most situations, its normally just a mediator. But they also keep an abuse history of companies with predatory business practices.

I am still a NewsGroup noob but I got all the info to start up my newsgroup account and client from Slyck's guide and these forums. I think its great that there is an accessible online community to discourage the "noobs" from purchaseing predatory providers like UseNext. So big shot and many thanks go to slyck and his crew. :D

Slyder just for the record, I read MANY reccomendations from the staff and contributors here on these forums for NewsGroup providers and clients which provide the HIGHEST EASE OF USE FOR NEWBIES and people trying to get into the newsgroup scene. To suggest that this site is attempting to discourage people not "in the know" from useing NewsGroups is just plain silly and disrespectful.

One of these days UseNext is gonna step on the wrong toes and someone is gonna bring a class-action breach of contract and damages resulting lawsuit against them, and then they are really gonna be screwed. So I hope they get whats coming to them.

head over to dslreports.com and let them know too. :)

then maybe digg.com would be fun.. and dont forget the well and totse also.. :)

and he'll be back here. the truth and evidence that hes part of a scam doesnt matter one bit. since he just claims over and over hes only a happy user of the scam service.

He's a shill for a scam site. not a very smart shill... but still. its his job.

He will show up everytime a search for usenext scam turns up new hits from slyck on google.

UseNext confused

Hi All,
I have been reading the posts on here regarding UseNext - I am completely new to all of this and only signed up for their free 14 day trial to look for a TomTom map of Australia so I could download it onto a SD card. Anyway I signed up couldnt find what I wanted within the week so I went on their website and cancelled before my trial ended. I received 3 emails from them in the order below. It looks like they are going to charge me 95.20 Euros and I cancelled before the trial was over - reading all the other messages on here everyone seems to say they have had a bad experience but I havent seen anyone that has cancelled before the trial ended and still looks like being charged. I hope someone can help and tell me what happened to them or tell me how I can stop them from charging me. Here's the 3 emails I got on the same day after I cancelled. I have blanked out my name and address from all emails for my privacy. My question is why am I being charged when I quit before the trial ended?
