Multi-Source Question.

Postby efish4559 » Sat Sep 23, 2006 11:22 am

I'm using DC++ with a 5mbit connection, but still, I experience slow downloads, no matter the file or it's number or 'alternatives'.

And I was wondering... If I find a file, and it has 20 alternatives, but in the USER tab it lists a specific user's name... does that mean I'm only downloading from him? If so, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks, efish.

DC++ can download one file from single source only.
You can download from multiple sources with RevConnect.

It's been reported that some DC hubs ban multi-source clients.

Concidering how anal DC hubs generally are about everything, trying exotic clients might just cause more probs. Too bad, but can't be helped with them mini-hitlers aka ops. :)

I have been trying out the Direct connect network - Although there’s loads of content, slow speeds (even with multi source) and lack on slots really kills this program for me. Things could be improved slightly if people managed their connection better - when you do eventually get connected to some one they have to many slots open for their upload speed so you end up d/l a large file at like 2kB/s :(
