New Macs?

Postby DanJS14 » Wed Apr 26, 2006 6:35 pm

I was wondering if anyone used the program called bootcamp, which enable users to use Windows XP and Macintosh computers. If so, have you been able to use DC++ on a mac? Does anyone know if this would work? I am interested in buying a Mac, but DC++ is a big priority.

imo its a waste of money doing that unless you're trying out OS X. I think it should work as from what I've heard, its pretty much the same for most tasks. There are some Mac DC clients out there, check out the DC guide.

DC++ is an amazing protocal/client.

As far as its usage on a mac, im aware that bootcamp emulates windows to some degree on a Mac platform, thus yes allowing the usage of DC++.

Slyck.com also has a list of DC++ client for a Mac, with Valkre(Sorry for spelling) and Shakespeer being quite well designed.

While unsecure because of open share files, private and ip ranged rooms are safe enough.

:twisted:

I wouldn't waste my money on a Mac, just buy a comptuer with a good proccesor and just upgrade RAM, Hd space, Graphics card, ect. And I think it will be just as good. As far as bootcamp, I'm pretty sure it's not an emulator, but it actaully runs Windows.
