Can anyone give an educated guess, or can a solicitor give an upfront cost for what it would take? If we know what it will cost, we can work out numbers for a class action, and the funds needed to be contributed by each person....

I'm not even in the relevant CONTINENT, but I would help where I can.

I do think having a website with even basic info should be a big priority. Even without alot of info at first, it is a sign there there is an organisation (or organised people) against the DL campain.
Right now when media does any sort of report on the cases or DL, the only get DL side of the story... and it's hard to blame them. Without a deep search, there's nowhere else to get any official or credible information or contact about the issue. Unless it's a large investigative story, they aren't going to be calling up individual people to ask how they feel about it. (No offence, but I dount think they count these forums as a credible source :( )
But if there is an established site, they can find it easily and at least aquire some contact information, and links to places like Slyck, and site that independantly verify IP addresses are not proof. And of course a dedicated forum and resouce centre would be helpful. A credible news report would be much more reluctant to print such one sided stories if there is an easy-to-find source refuting thier original source.

But we also have to ask, what does Slyck think about the possiblility of these VERY active topics moving away? Slyck has been a GREAT resource and help on the DL issue.
Although.......... the PADL, PAD, POO, CADL or whatever domain name itself would have to be aquired.. but Im wondering if this site idea couldnt just be a subdomain under Slyck.com? It could greatly increase traffic ;)
Am I the ONLY one who remembers that video KILLED the radio star?
There are two kinds of people in this world: people who can extrapolate from incomplete data

I will fight too, I will also be happy adding some money to the pot! We just need to organise it properly, I won't give my money to DL so they can cruise around in their posh cars while i can barely put food on the table!

I am in too. I think the very first thing we should do is get well organised and count up how many of us are interested in the activity. If we are 5-10 people, I doubt we will be able to do much. At the very least I think it will be usefull having a single point of contact to discuss this issue, instead of the current array of forums/threads out there- so far I am following the ones below - and it is a nightmare to track the issue well given that there are so many:

I also would contribute to a "fighting fund" im pissed off with these twats sending out there so called legal letters im "totally" innocent and was panicking in the beginning after recieving the first two letters .I was being asked for money for two down loads of two worlds at exactly the same time to the second, when I pointed out to them in my reply that this is impossible even if I had done it I recieved a reply that they had made a mistake they now wanted money for one download , a reply I believe that loads of other people got after I pointed out their error. Since them they have sent two further letters to a house 20 doors away from me, I only recieved them because the person in this house knows me it makes me wonder if court papers are ever sent out do you have to sign for them?
I would gladly fight them in court Im just concerened that I may not recieve the papers and they would get another "default "jugement .Can anyone clarify if you have to sign for the court papers?

Could somebody with enough technical capacity/knowledge please provide some options as to how we can start channeling all these DL threads in one place? Is it even feasible? Can we not re-point at least all the SLYCK threads to a single one? I guess anybody at any time may start a new thread, and thereby destroying all efforts to join threads? Any ideas?

Once we have a single place of contact, I guess we will be more people in the group and if we decide we ever wanted to, we can attract media attention...and Enigmax could mention our new site in his notes to further attract other victims. Just a thought.

The problem I see from the start is that some people here take this seriously and others just ask for help with their letters without even bother reading the entire threads.

You will know a court document if you see one. As it will not be headlined with DL..it will headline with the court system. In Canada it usually starts with "Queen's Bench" and such. We don't have to sign for it, if it was hand delivered, but you do need to sign at the post office if it's registered mail (1st class). Somebody verified this for the UK as well.

good idea, aalamo. i've been thinking the same thing myself.

my thought is to lock this and the dream pinball thread, sticky them so they're still easy to find, and point them both to a new stickied thread for simplicity. i'm also open to suggestions :)

Count me in too,

This would be a good opportunity to expose the lies and deception that DL use in their scare tactics.
The abuse of civil law in order to pursue ordinary, decent, hardworking people.
The stress and anxiety suffered by people accused.
Identify some of the dubious individuals behind this money making machine and name and shame them.
Point out that all of the major players seem to reside in the same office block in Germany.
Point out that in EU countries that actually give a shit about civil liberties, their activities have been curtailed.
How is it in France a lawyer using the same tactics as DL was disbarred, in the UK they carry on regardless?
Point out that Logistep has been discredited in several EU countries for their dubious / illegal activities
Blah, Blah, Blah..

There were always two ways to tackle this - either bring DL to a stop through discreditation, or cut off its customer base. I still find it hard to believe that a couple of big name publishers (Codemasters and Atari) were nieve enough to get involved with Logistep and DL without checking them out first. There's enough press coverage and the like in the public domain to discredit this process, all they had to do was dig around and find it.

TopWare doesn't count as a reputable company - they already have proven links to Logistep and are therefore by default part of the discredited side of this.

Hi All
Sorry if this has already been answered but haven't had time to look through 46 pages of info.
One thing has been bothering me regarding the lastest 16k payment order.
Eariler this year DL sent out a blanked out court document saying they won a case in Nov/Dec last year against a pinball dreams victim.
Can anyone explain why there was no settlement hearing or did this happen and I missed it?
If there was why wait till now to release this press realese why not do it in the previous case?
Or have DL made this up and sent out false papers which if ever brought up in court would seriously discredit them?
Can anyone answer this?????

There is a strong possibility DL have been lying in an attempt to intimidate people to pay up. More fuel for the fire to burn them with when the time comes.

i'd be surprised if they get proven to have actually lied about this. these are lawyers, and are well aware of the consequences, i would think.

however, an orchestrated campaign of intentionally misleading people is another matter.

Yep I would imagine that would be the case however, as I mentioned before, everything questionable activity such as this by DL is adding more fuel to fire.
