it sucks.

Damm thing still takes over your torrent files even if you tell it not to too.

g1 support never did improve. g2 still returns more fake files than anything else. still worse than emule for the ed2k network.

It does alot. But it doesnt do anything really well.

I'm glad to hear it isn't dead, because apparently some one out there likes Shareaza.

To me, its still jack of all trades and the master of none. Its ED2K support does not beat my eMule, and its torrent support is not any better than uTorrent. Its the best G2 client there is, but I still think the searches are slow (my computer is configured right). Also, I think to myself, "what do you need G2 for?" and the reply is always, "Nothing." Gnutella support is still awful.

At least it has a nice gui.

I agree on the G1 part, but I get better results from ed2k in Shareaza than in Emule. Basically I use it as an ed2k and G2 client. For torrents I use utorrent.

Shareaza's always had a lot of good concepts behind it. The implementation has usually been poor/ineffective, however.

And the dev team seems to focus on the wrong issues much of the time. They should have added UPnP support eons ago, not just now in version 2.2.3.0 beta (spelled out for emphasis).

I'll DL it and try it out, though.

EDIT: Just tried. Fairly good improvement... faster GUI, much faster searches, still get lowID on ED2K despite UPnP, but looks good so far...

Just tested it, it's a little better. They *really* need to focus on a spam filter. Those spoofed results are killing the network.
