It's just Imesh with Bearshare skins stuck on it.
It's not a p2p application but just an interface to the
imesh music store.

not worth the time.

How did you come to that conclusion? BearShareLite/Pro is still very much alive.

Oh... unless your a LimeWire user, of course. :P

Yeah, BS is very alive, allways over 500.000 BS users online! Well theres more LimeWire users ;)

In the past few years back I’ve been using Bare Share, it was good prog.
To me was the speed I was impressed with not the content because as BS users know for the rare stuff you wouldn’t go to gnutella .
Well the other day I was wonder if anything has change on BS so I got the 5.1Lite, and I was hmm!!! I don’t know what to think of it first there were over 800.000 users, and then all new releases video lots of sources.
How safe is Gnutella specially BS

The gnutella networks is just fine and still is usable.
You just can't use the bearshare 6 to access it.
Tho previous version of bearshare still work.
just don't install version 6.

When I have to use gnutella I tend to gravitate to limewire.
It's a nice client with a good UI in the "pro" edition.

My order of preference.
emule (edonkey network)
limewire (gnutella)
soulseek (???)

Thanks for your quick reply.

Yes I’ve heard from few sources not to install any older version then 5.2…… for the security reasons, I see there is still few people on that network even after what is happening .
So you like Lime Wire? Yes it is nice client all thou in a past I couldn’t get good speeds but then again it was years ago.

Cheers

Soulseek (Soulseek) ;)

Well LimeWire Pro is a good gnutella client too :)

There is also Shareaza/G2 that seems imune to industry pressure and lawsuits. Same with Ares

It wouldn't supprise me if they discontinued BearShareLite.

Gnutella won't die!

LimeWire will probably be next to join legal downloads.

We still will have Frostwire, Phex, KCeasy, Morpheus and old versions of BearShare(Regular,Lite & Pro).

Hopefully Shareaza will be updated to support Ultra-Peers.

Thanks. :D

It might die, but it could be rendered unuseable. If the network got flooded with so much crap it wouldnt matter which clients connected. Sure, its manageable now, but we'll see later.

WHy no older version than 5.2?

Hi quick, Why you say no older ver than 5.2? I'm still running 4.6.0pro and have had no probs. I'm still pretty new to p2p, as I've only been using it for a couple years so, any enlightenment would be appreciated. I'm a noob here as well. Just joined today.

Bye the way, have you checked out BearFlix yet? It's pretty good I think. I'm using the pro ver. You don't have to deal with so much other junk if you're only going after flix.

To clarify: Do not install or use any version at or
above 5.2.0.6
, especially BearFlix or version 6.

5.1 and older are still trustworthy and are not
crippled or spyware infested like the newer versions.
For safety's sake stay away from 5.2 and up.
