I have  ... though to be fair, that's not exactly a horror, and before watching that sketch I'd never even heard of Sam Peckinpah!

Besides, I do watch comedy-horror films - if they're funny - I just don't find 'serious' horror films entertaining.

Sam was not a horror film director. his main genre was Westerns, but he also did a few films that weren't westerns too. the common factor here is that sam's films always featured plenty of violence. the python sketch is somewhat misleading, as the violence in pekinpah's films, while often copious, wasn't gratuitously graphic, a la the Saw or Hostel series.

of the films he made which are not westerns, off the top of my head, i can think of 2, and i'd recommend them both.

one is The Osterman Weekend, and the other, which takes place in Merry Olde England ;) , is Straw Dogs. Straw Dogs, in particular, is a damn good film.
