Yes, her voice is just absolutely amazing. This is a simple, single person, who has lost her parents, lives alone with her cats and is unemployed. She only did this audition to honor her deceased mother. She stated that she is very shy and not full of confidence (never been kissed). She has no prior professional experience and possibly no training either, so just imagine the potential here. To me, this whole story is about a person that was ignored in society (according to her), not pretty, not rich, not social and was ridiculed as a child, but now her entire future has changed in just one day. She looked fear in the eyes, did this to honor her mother and then tried to walk off the stage very humbled. A great story behind a great voice.

Cheers to you Susan Boyle :toast: Best of luck to your continued success!

Was not what anyone was expecting. Given the normal level of 'talent' on show, I guess everyone figured she was just another hopeless hopeful. Boy did she prove them wrong. Just hope she doesn't get ruined by the process of the program.
It's only funny until someone gets hurt,

Then it's bloody hilarious :)

It is the mark of an educated mind, to entertain a thought without being seduced by it.

That was absolutely beautiful!

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

As soon as the hockey game finished tonight (yes, I had to watch that first), I watched her performance again, and again, and yes, again. I honestly have to say that it brings a tear to my eye each time I watch it. She was just fricking incredible singing, and such a beautiful song to match her voice. (The lyrics themselves do not tell a beautiful story, but it was her story, and she made it beautiful).
Susan Boyle, you go girl!!! Live that dream

Susan did not win, she came in second place in the competition, but the comments from the judges certainly should have left her feeling very proud. She definitely has a bright future ahead of herself, and she will continue to live her dream. There will be no shortage of opportunities for her now.

Cheers Susan to your continued success, this was another great performance indeed, and an inspiration to many. :toast:
