Strange message from eDonkey 1.4.3

In the "console" I get the following message:

"Really Big Connecting List xyz"
Anyone that has any idea what this is?

A gentle reminder to stop using a unsupported client? Seriously, it must be full of holes by now. I don't however know what the message actually means, I had no idea anyone still used eDonkey anymore?

edonkey is dead.. delete that sucker and use

emule.
http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/general.cgi?l=1

It's what all the cool kids are doing.
come on take a hit the first one's free.

but ya.. like what LD50% said edonkey was shutdown by the evil RIAA about what 1 year ago now.
It's time to stop playing with it and move on.

by the by that message is from the client saying that it has received a new servers list named ""Really Big Connecting List xyz""

but still and really get rid of edonkey and swap to the very cool open source emule.

Well, eMule does not support overnet as far as I know, and its dl-speed is very bad.

eDonkey is still the best client, me think.

I can't help you on your question but I did want to say that I totally agree with you. We are still running eDonkey and it works 100 times better than we have ever got eMule to run.

Does it also run on Windows Vista perchance? ;)

It means you've got a long list of people you're trying to connect to (as well as people trying to connect to you). And it generally happens if you haven't increased the number of half-open connections allowed.

 2 years since you last posted BWS42!

hey, if anyone would know, you would (as the expert on all things MetaMachine): is Kdrive still working?

See this thread for more:
A private P2P network for you lovely forumites

BTW I couldn't get the Kdrive versions I got from the Wayback Machine to work.
