downloading speed

how fast should it be? ive got a 10mbit line but it just download in about 30kbyte sec why? bittorrent and dc++ goes up to 1000kbyte or more but why doesent edonkey do that?p.s. i use the newest ver emule

Speed is determined by more than just how fast your line is. Keep in mind that you're downloading from other people free-of-charge, and those people usually won't be uploading as fast as you're downloading, due to bandwidth caps either from your peers, or their ISPs. The eDonkey network is generally known to be slower than other networks, but what it lacks in speed, it makes up for in content.
