Does this really make you safer when using edonkey?

We are talking about only sharing the popular adult porn out there but not sure what it is for edonkey but it may be pretty similar to usenet in some of the same titles. Would you consider this right or ok to do sense most people here I would think have been part of the edonkey community for a while I am sure.

I mean it is still sharing but would you consider the person who does this like the person in that post that does it fair or would you consider him cheating the system?

I know it says for emule but I am sure it could be used for edonkey as well.

I would agree.

I only seen it a few times on the internet. I don't think it would even work anyway.

You can call him a leecher or not - I dunno. I'll leave that up to you. But I wouldn't call him paranoid.

For the system to work, though, those downloads would have to be darn fast - AFAIK there's no way to keep from sharing the files while you're downloading them.

Whether it be porn or the latest popular single it is still illegal, although I do admit that being taken to court by the porn industy is a lot less likely than being taken to court by RIAA etc..

Also, i'm not so sure that that method would work consistently reliably. If I look at my eDonkey logs which show what has been uploaded from me and the timeframes I can see that some file are uploaded for a matter of seconds before that slot is taken by another user. The above method may make it less unlikely to be picked up on that popular music file but is by no means foolproof.

I suppose you could argue that he is leeching that particular popular music file, but as he is also uploading other popular files(porn or otherwise)I don't think he could be called a leecher completely.

I wouldn't call it paranoid but simply overly excessive. It is only one or two "popular" songs, and with the mass amount of users on the ED2K network I seriously doubt you are going to be screwed over by the RIAA for a few latest "smash hits".

It wouldn't be that hard to remove traces (actual files, logs etc) of one or two song files and deny any involvement in the action of sharing those, but multiple hard drives worth of porn uploaded over long periods might be a bit more of a challenge :P

Agreed, but once that users IP has been logged by the authorities whilst uploading/downloading that file then I think it would be game over as far as effectively defending yourself or denying it goes..

well no evidence (file if pc is confiscated) proves you innocent right if they never find the file itself right even if it is on a cd somewhere or a dvd? Could they still get you if you have no evidence such as you don't have the file so you couldn't have dl it or uploaded it?
