Give him a break man. He's only a youngster and I think English is not his native language.

lol zim thats probably porn.. and if u want a speed snapshot, can do them all day of newsgroups and getting speeds of 1.6 Mbps at times
really suks have a movie in under 30 minuts
really suks to have it processed, and burnt in less than 3 hours, so lol again any file u can find on emule can and does show up elsewhere
and visa versa
i can screen shot all day long files u cant find on emule at that give n monement but they show up again in time one several p2p lsitings
.. and ur ewmule clinet, u would be lieing if u said u havent done everything u could to make it faster, forwarding, cerytain ports, ques, etc, on and on a slow turtle
emules ned to be vocal and admit its too slow, then the developers would inprove speeds

It's an interesting point about availability. The great advantage for me is that on Newsgroups the rare films I want are available in a DVD format, while their counterparts on Edonkey seem to be the .avi rips of the same films.

Thinking about it, I wouldn't want to try and download a DVD5 on Edonkey. Now that would be torture. :)

Like I said I don't care about grasp on languages. My english is not perfect either. But there is a point where posts just end up being a tangle of undecipherable words. And at that point the post is just 'blabla blabla blabla'.
Him being a youngster might be true tho I wonder how he's gonna pay his newsgroup account without a credit card.

You sound a bit like my friend I talked about earlier (of course I expect you don't even read what others write) who download and burn everything posted in the newsgroups - not because he wants to see the movies he downloads but just because he can. Whatever floats your boat but I think that's as idiotic as you seem to think I am.

tater wrote:any file u can find on emule can and does show up elsewhere

So why haven't you found me that "Renegade" TV show yet? Oh wait that's right - you can't.

Not that I expect you'll even read this and if you do you will ignore it. This will be the last effort I spend on an obvious troll like you. However, learn some English - some of your posts are not just hard to read, but are absolutely impossible to read.

Back to my Lphant lite experience. It shot up to 150kb/s (overall) and has been steady for the last five minutes, very little fluctuation.

Upload has been steady at 25-30kb/s.

I only installed Lphant lite last week to test it out, seems like I've found a good client that I'll stick with.

Can you check if it's webcache related? There should be stats somewhere telling you how much download you got from the webcache. Webcache just means that you are getting data from your ISPs http proxy. Since that's within the network you get very fast speeds if a block has been cached already.

I already checked that. I have webcache disabled.

The speed just dipped to 39kb/s and holding. But at least it's downloading.

I wonder why Emule doesn't behave this way when I fire it up. My experience with Emule is that it takes hours to start connecting.

Maybe this client has more aggressive connection settings by default?

Well it's a stock install and I haven't come across anything that I haven't seen before. I've been looking through the menus to see if there is something activated that might be giving me the good results, but so far, nothing.

Weird.

I must say this is a fantastic Edonkey client. I've been watching it for the last hour or so and I'm getting a lot more than I ever got on Emule.

Lphant lite has now become my preffered Edonkey app.

Yes,a rather interesting thread.
I personally stopped using emule and their network, because it is sooo slooowww and whatever I need or am looking for;whether its old vintage music or classic horror films or a tv series from the sixties. Can be found on private, public sites or filesharing forums (again private or public)And more and more sites are popping up to cater for specialized and rare media. As well as News groups, irc etc.If you have the bandwidth,The world is your oyster.
That being said,emule/edonkey and it derivatives is a tradition and so being will die slowly. As will the worlds ability to upgrade and distribute fast bandwidth equally to all countries.
And I share-Just very fast !

yep zim, hmm could it bee u have tweak ur emule, added, stoke, uploaded so much useless porn to gain credit, uses know buddies to share.. yeap some in the emule world know some tricks, have other closed groups, etc... but so too funny, its still nothing to a good bot torreent p2p prog , are irc, are newgroups.. and back to the veage emule user, who doesnt know them tricks to get just a little more speed, who conect and wait hours, days, weeks, months...
... emule is a lost cause
everybody and and i mean everybody uses other more faster means now to get whhats readily available... again u didnt state are show what it was ur downloading/ song? movie are most like porn... for me wht ever i think and search and find , i can be watching it withing a couple of hours, not weeks. DOH

I see some people can only complain , mainly because they can`t properly configure their p2p client , and rather don`t understand how p2p works.
You think ed2k network has nothing to offer ?
Well in that case just don`t use it , noone will miss you. Stick to leeching from irc and usenet , cause thats closer to your way of life.
As for me , eMule covers 95% of my needs , and I don`t mind waiting some time for my files , couple of days in worst case. The world will not end

face it, ed2k DOES have files that so rare they probably only appear in that network.

sure you can say "ohhh but i 've found my precious rare files somewhere else before with better speed!" but uhhm, sorry, britney spears albums are in fact NOT rare files.

what ppl like YOU tater dont understand is, most p2p users in the know use more than just one p2p program. you think i love putting up with the bad speed of ed2k? the 24/7 no reboot streak? no i hate that, but i stick with it, why? because everybody, and and i mean everybody, uses it. you think we're idiotic enough to just search ed2k and then hope for the best? no..we search for torrents or irc, or whatever other pr2p that provides faster speed first. in the end, we turn back to emule for our little rare files that simply couldnt' be found anywhere else. you can live in your little world of "ohh but but but torrents get me everything i want!" well that doesn't mean it gets US everything WE want, but hey, us emule users here simply are more picky about our files. believe me, there have been times requesting in private torrent forums fail to get me the file i wanted before. we simply want more than you that's all. if you can't understand that, then you're just like any kazaa users to me.

Yeah! There was so many old movies that i could not find on BT and Gnutella but only on eD2k! There migth be rare files on gnutella but it will be hard to find it because gnutella is completly decentralized so if one uses that has the file you want, it will be hard to find that file, you can't search all users on decentralized networks but on centralized lile eD2k you can!

I'd rather find the content right away and then do something productive while the client is downloading rather than spending my precious time on searching the content all over the web and getting it in record time.
