I once had 300kb/s, but it lasted for all of the 3 mins of my shock, then it went down to 10kbs, damn it.

Why are you even useing shareaze to access ed2k. It can't participate in the credit system, and that means 95% of the cilents you'll sit in queue for days while any client with credit will be bypassing you.

Have you got a magical version of Emule? One that I never got hold of? Ahh, it's probably my fault, I am trying to get hold of sixy year old Japanese films and Spencer Tracy movies after all.

Share a large collection of the type of stuff you are looking for.

increase the chance that the people with what you want. owe you some credit from downloading from you.

My speed comes from sharing porn... Everyone downloads porn. So everyone owes me a little credit for what i actually want. :)

And leave emule run. 24-7. give it at least 10k up and forget about it. unpause or add a couple more files you want to dl every couple of days as some files finish.

And even then some files will be slow. I've got a couple that have been downloading for months now. gig+ each.

I'm not gonna download another client just to access a network that i'll use once every 6 months. I've used shareaza to download BT, and i always get 1.2mb/sec. And i also download off G1+G2 at 200-600kbps (less amount of users too).

Seems I've been spoiled by Usenet. I just fire up the different groups and usually find all the old films, like binaries multimedia vintage films. I suppose it's the tantalising effect of Emule that shows you all this content, then crawls along as though you're still on dialup. What a tease that Donkey is. :)

And I never got this queue, credits thing. Why is it so damn slow? Why does it take months to get any decent speeds? Like Assyrian said, I've seen speeds in excess of 200kbs on G2, with less users. What is it they're doing right, that the Donkey does wrong?

Colour me baffled.

I'm not gonna speculate on the original intent of this thread. You shouldn't compare an oranage to an apple. Shareaza's performance in not indicative of the network. [unless its speech class and the format is persuasive].

I almost solely download serial content where its not uncommon to have 26-100+ files each 230megs released over a time period. BT isn't suited for the retention period nessacry to dl the complete content at some point after the final release.

I finally finished the download, it turned out that i upped 5x more than i dl'd.

I've used eMule before, i've upped/shared alot of GB (HighID n all). Still had to wait, once it started going i was between 5-50kb. It's a piece of shit network (many of you know this, just admit). Welcome to 2006, where 300kb/sec is a joke. eMule is for dialups. It has more users yet slower speeds. Good for rare files? Not anymore, in the past year i've seen heaps of old movies upped on BT than the year before. Alot more to come. Die already ed2k, and hand over the users to another network.

WOW, not the top speed.....what do you expect with that many files downloading, the max I have hit with one file downloading is somewhere around 150k/s using ed2k, not emule

I don't know if its even fitting to post people's IP addresses. Unlike Shareaza, Emule will not even display them in any form.

I really like emule. I have found so many files on there that can't be found elsewhere. Some really surpising things too. It is not for people who just want speed for speeds sake. Seems people will download a turd as long as its fast. Do you guys stare at your progress bars? Who cares how long it takes as long as you get good content. My speed almost always equals my upload speed, sometimes slower, sometimes faster though. The main people who hate it are the people who try to leech or use the wrong program to access the network. ITs great to have a place where older content and great programs are always shared.

That has ALWAYS been the problem with the edonkey network in general..... it is SLOW! Period. I don't care how much you tweak it, cuss it, or anything else...it is STILL gonna move at a very slow pace! It is just the nature of the network itself!

I have used it since it began years ago with the original client from the very first edonkey 2000 version and have tried every trick in the book to get better speeds downloading from the thing and have also used different clients including emule, but it is STILL slow!

As someone pointed out, what used to make the edonkey network have an advantage over other networks was rare content....but with more and more people using newsgroups and bit torrents, more and more rare content is being made available on those networks....and you don't have to wait weeks or days and have to upload far more than you download just to use them either!

Frankly, I think the donkey network has seen better days! Now it is slowly being replaced with faster networks that can also have rare content. I say bring the faster networks on!

I get what I want, and I get it for free, so little wait is not a problem. Also I dont have to go through countless trackers etc in order to possibly find what I want.

ed2k does indeed have content for those who demand it.

works well too..

by emules projected averages.. i'll be getting 581 gig this year. and uploading 319 gig.

for free 500 gig isnt anything to dismiss.

THE whole thing is subjective anyway

what one person would describe as rare content can vary person to person

at the end of the day use what works for you

dont see the point of bashing somthing you dont like

if you dont like it use dont use it end of story

ur too funny
, u wait months and this ur blessed, wow, and then what u stored it, probably dont even watch it, can get more enjpoyment watch a 10 wat light bulb all those weeks and month, save electricty, cpu/computer usage.. and no one can run their computer 24/7
i know u reboot several times a week, we all do, so u keep praisning a dead p2p, while the smart one find faster more easier conveinent ways to get what they want, and and i have used emule several times before, lol
, so go ride that sloooow turtle, while the jackrabbit, get everything they want by p2p progs that take nimutes to hours, not month
praise emule all you want, were still gonna laugh at the slooow progs, and users that beat there head for weks to months wishing it would get finally done.. just too funny... and to say emule finds eberything you want, not relistic i could name thing things, movie, docs, programs and u cant find any sources.. so say useing things, and beat ur head against the wall waiing for that download to tick away for weeks, me i will have watch used 100 times more of anything i want by so much better and faster progs, too funny
