Facebook - Privacy Complaints Filed

Postby Dazzle_2 » Sun Jun 01, 2008 5:10 am

I spotted this interesting article.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7428833.stm

A Canadian privacy group has filed a complaint against the social networking site Facebook accusing it of violating privacy laws.

The Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic has listed 22 separate breaches of privacy law in its country.

While I applaud Canada's stress on maintaining privacy, they seem to like to target it in the wrong areas while ignoring it where it counts.

I do agree that Facebook could be a bit more clear and a bit easier to get to, modify and understand the privacy settings, as well as they should have it defaulting to a better privacy setting, other than full open.
