What free AV, and Firewall does everyone use?

Hey everyone,

What does everyone have in a top line personal preference for an AV, and Firewall that would be free, and user friendly with P2P of all areas in general? I have Windows 7, and I'm using the built in Windows Firewall, and I'm using MSE for the free AV, and also, I have CCleaner. The reasons for these types of questions is to get recommendations for a better protection I have, if, and only my protection is not strong enough.

Thank you,

here are a couple of good programs to have - each has a free version:

i'm going to move this thread to the tech/software discussion board once you've seen this.

Thank you, and seen it. So, keep my current Firewall, and AV, and get what you mentioned as well?

ya, those would be to supplement a firewall and A/V, not to replace them.

And get rid of CCleaner? Or keep it? In some time I might not be able to respond. I just took some daily prescription medications which all has a cause for drowsiness which means I'll be out. Lol. I might I do wake up in AM hours, and I mean early because I have insomnia. I don't know what time I'll pass out. Lol.

Keep Ccleaner, and make sure you do the updates for it when it notifies you that there is a new version available.

Trojan Remover is also a good one, It is designed to disable malware without the need to use SAFE mode,

What I was trying to ask everyone, does everyone prefer MSE as a free AV? Or does everyone prefer something different then MSE? That would be free and not paid. I mean 100% free.

i understand, rocky, but i don't use a free firewall or A/V, so i figured i'd let someone else reply to that particular point.

i used to recommend AVG as a free A/V solution, but after a couple of people i know had machines wiped out which were "protected" by AVG, i stopped doing that.

What about paid, and then leech it?

I use MSE on all of my Windows machines and I install it on all of my customer's Windows machines too, and have done so for few years now. And, perhaps surprisingly for a Microsoft product, it does the job very well and without the bloat or nags associated with so many other AV products. In most of the independent AV comparative test I've seen, it usually ranks at, or near, the top.
