Music file editing...

Postby jivesister » Fri Nov 09, 2007 4:24 pm

Musicmatch allowed me to lookup music files, rename them and automatically changed the file name in my music folder. But,alas,Musicmatch is gone and so is the support...Now I would like to find a program which edits and renames them as well as MMJB. Anybody with an application suggestion? I just started playing audio with Winamp. Thanks

unfortunately,in my experience, WMP attempts to "own" or alter my files.

I use audacity. It's freeware.
You are able to edit the song and even do some enhancements.
I've had it for a while and have just begun scratching the surface of the program's capabilities.
I make my own ringtones with the program.
Once you are done, you can rename the song or even change the coding to a wave, mp3 or ogg vorbis.

I have found that I love Winamp....It edits files, converts and actually improves the sound quality...Winamp is,simply put, Awesome!!!...thank you all for your suggestions. I am still learning the ins and outs of the program, but it does what I need. And it does it better than Musicmatch.

I use mp3Tag Pro, it can also look for the song names in Internet, so I always have my music named properly.
